I was having breakfast and A staff member wouldn’t let me leave the restaurant before I paid when you usually pay at checkout. She chased me as I was leaving the restaurant and made me feel like a thieve. On top of that, the staff at the reception made my wife pay a second time for the same breakfast! Then we had to go back and forth to prove that we had already paid and obtain a refund! Outrageous!

Terrible confusion over getting a meal in the hotel. At check in please inform visitors that if the restaurant get busy no other food options are available??? Management very poor. Unfortunately no options were offered just “it’s always like this. As if I should know?

The menu in Brasserie Blanc had a good choice and the food was very well prepared and tasty. The BB staff were very pleasant and courteous both at dinner and at breakfast. The reception staff were very helpful. The room was very comfortably with excellent views of the sea and pier. It was very handy that the West Cliff lift is straight outside the front door of the hotel. It made an interesting route to the beach promenade.

Easy to walk into city centre, Our room was newly renovated and had a nice bathroom with walk in shower. Parking was very expensive at the hotel at £12 per day.

the room was nice but we booked a suite and was told at check in that it’s not available for use anymore due to maintenance so was quite disappointed as we were then forced to have the next ‘best’ room which was a regular sea view room. not pleased at the room disappointment so made the experience less happy. they could’ve notified us earlier rather than making us wait.

After a long journey down arrived at the hotel to find that unfortunately the free street parking outside was full so had to use the hotel car park. No issues with the car park apart from the price (£12 per day)Checked in and were told we'd been allocated one of the cottages.The cottages are quite spacious with two double beds and are great for families with chidren. Espcially in summer as you can go out the patio door across the grass to the outside pool. It was quite dull when we arrived and the lighting in the cottages does leave a lot to be desired so we didn't really pay that much attention to the decor. The next morning was bright and sunny and we soon noticed a stain down the ceiling and wall in one corner where it looked as though someone had thrown food. In addition a thick layer of dust on the small table and black fingerprints above the handle on the bathroom door were also apparent. On going out for the day I mentioned the stain down the wall to Reception who advised that they would have Housekeeping look at it. If they did nothing was done as it was still there when we returned which I found a bit disappointing. The next morning I went to take a shower only to find there was no hot water. . On checking out I mentioned this to Reception who just said "oh wow!". Not quite the response I was expecting. Maybe a "I'm very sorry I'll get someone to look into that" would have been better. Depite these little issues I really liked the hotel and would definitely return.

It was okay.
The staff on reception were very nice and helpful. Considering this was my first time of staying on going to breakfast not one of six staff that were on informed me of how the breakfast was served. The cottages outside are very dated and very little sockets, which when on business you need to be able to sit and work and have the ability to charge your laptop. Was it worth paying extra to see the pier. No not really. Sustainably the radiators needed to turn off on entering. It was overly warm. I like that there was refill cleansing products over the bath. But still plastic tubes of body lotion. Would have been nice to have had a dressing gown and slippers, the latter because of the carpets had seen better days. I did note on my way out that they had refurbed some of the rooms. If you’re a single female. Ask not to be put in a cottage as the road is poorly lit and very daunting to walk along when it’s dark.

Came to Bournes to watch my son dancing at the BIC had a double room with my partner because we came back late. The room was very cold tried to turn the heating up. It wouldn’t go beyond 24°. It was below freezing outside so I just couldn’t get warm. Had a problem with the fan in the toilet, it just wouldn’t go off had to switch it off manually, not what you expect from such a nice hotel and One pain was having to pay for parking £12.50 it’s a top hotel more expensive than any of them in Bournemouth so you shouldn’t have to pay for parking

Hotel lovely but communication impossible
The hotel is lovely and in a fabulous position overlooking the sea. However the trip has been marred slightly by the inability to contact them regarding something I left in my room. I have tried multiple routes to contact the front desk all of which have been ignored. There should be an advertised telephone and email contact for the front desk that actually gets through to the hotel rather than just the Marriott group which seems to just ignore all communication.
