The apartment was in a great location. We were able to park and walk to restaurants, stores, and waterfront. We did use the car a couple times to go to a further away beach and a farmer's market. The apartment had everything we needed, kitchen, full bath, living room and a huge bedroom. All arrival and departure instructions were very clear from the host. I went on a solo trip to Salem and stayed here. The entrance opens to the bedroom which was a nice surprise. It made me very comfortable and ready to relax. Fort Seawall and an amazing view of the ocean are a very short walk, downtown and some amazing shops and restaurants are right there. We stayed in town for a funeral with our 1.5 year old son (who we were kindly allowed in the space with after contacting the host) and it was just right for getting around town. My husband is from Marblehead and said the location was perfect and it was, very central and close-by to everything we needed to get to in walking distance. Because it was also January, it was freezing out but no part of our stay reflected the weather as we were able to manage the heat inside, it was very comfortable. Planned a short trip to Salem and found this great place. Everything was as described. I thought it was even better in person. It was cute, quaint, quiet and peaceful. The bed was super comfortable. Some reviews are saying the shower was too small but I’m tall and had no problems with the shower. They do mention that parking in the back was very tight which is accurate but there was always a place to find parking elsewhere. Everyone in town was friendly and every place we ate was good. The scenery was beautiful and there were plenty of things to do. The drive to Salem, or Boston was very easy. Overall the experience was great and would recommend this place. We had no trouble finding street parking close by, and mostly walked everywhere except the beach and Salem. Our one complaint is the bed. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating, they were not. If you like a bed so hard that it hurts to sleep on your side, you'll love the bed at this rental! Know that the building is not at all sound resistant, and the floor and bed squeak readily.
