Poor service

Posted 25-May-2016
Pros: Riverside location
Cons: Better staff, a refit.
Location: Run along the river
Pretty much everyone who served me (check in, restaurant staff) was lax or not able to do their job effectively. On paper the facilities look good - and the hotel's photos paint a flattering picture - but its dated, almost shabby.

2 star at most!

Posted 16-May-2016
- Shower points to the wall in a minuscule box; impossible to shower properly - Wifi for one device only - Rooms face the internal atrium; food and coffee smell inside the room - Room heating system from the stone age; doesn't work properly - TV cable was malfunctioning - no space or comfort in the room; no freebies; no space to store clothes - Old and ugly hotel

Hotel overlooks Charles River

Posted 4-May-2016
The hotel quality does not match the quality depicted in the pictures. It's a bit run down, especially the pool area.

Came to Boston to take my dad to Fenway Park

Posted 29-Apr-2016
Pros: The location, staff and the shuttle service
Cons: The prices in the convenience store was very high. Also the weekend we stayed the room rates were very expensive compared to other dates.
Location: Fenway Park, North end, Quincy market, Harvard square
We had a wonderful stay. We planned this visit back in November 2015 in order to take my dad to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play. In March 2016 my dad was in an accident and had to have surgery on his ankle. We traveled in mid- April and he had to travel with a walker and wheel chair. The hotel staff was so helpful and accommodating to our needs. The shuttle service was terrific! The staff were very friendly. The hotel food was excellent! The room size was great, we had a roll away bed and still had plenty of room. The views were amazing! We were there the weekend of the Boston marathon and we did not know that was going to be taking place. The room rate was very expensive due to this event. It would be helpful to have special events like this listed.

Very convenient for BU

Posted 25-Apr-2016
Pros: Above
Cons: Dining room less expensive
Location: On the Charles great proximity to BU.
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for a college visit at Boston University and it was great. Right across the Charles River from the campus. There were a number of student parties going on up on the 17th floor and I was worried it would be noisy but we didn't hear a thing (we were on the 6th floor) . Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had brunch in the restaurant the next morning it was delicious but over priced. I highly recommend it!

My favorite hotel in Boston

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Modernize the lobby area
Location: Harvard Square and MIT are walkable
Easy to get to and easy to get around key parts of Boston make me want to stay at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge. The hotel itself is surprisingly "nothing special". Its good but does not WOW. The people are what make me come back. Everyone is cheerful and helpful. The fact that they offer several shuttles make having no car (and needing no taxi) no problem when you want to see other parts of Boston. The restaurant food is good and the service even better. And when you just want to relax, you are right next to the Charles River and can lose oneself in a walk or watch the crew teams practice. And the prices care good. That's why I try to make the Hyatt Regency Cambridge my headquarters for any Boston area trip.

Great hotel close to Boston

I came to take part in the marathon and see a Red Sox game. Liked running along the Charles River and there were many great restaurants to eat at. Hotel service was great too!

Okay hotel. By the river which was great.

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Room was dirty. Hair in beds. Hall ways worse. Great location by river and MIT but that's about it. We were there for the Redsoxs games. Shuttle was a nice treat to get around. Front door guys were amazing!! zephyrs restaurant was good. Front desk staff didn't seem to care that we were there and made it seem worse that we booked through Expedia. Maybe if you book directly you get the clean rooms.

nice hotel, cant walk anywhere

Posted 2-Apr-2016
Pros: the bed
Cons: infill wall from bed to bath
it was a very nice hotel in terms of the bedroom comfort- the building- the shop downstairs- parking was convenient.. gym was closed for repairs. with the atrium space our room did smell like gravy from the restaurant below and the low wall separating the bed from the bath access and make up area made for a lack of privacy and you could not walk anywhere really- even BU .4 mi across the river was too dangerous a walk,
