Old, worn, stained

Posted 18-Oct-2017
Stains on the carpet, rust and mold in the tub, rundown. Stayed here to save money, so I guess we got what we paid for :-(

Worst Hotel in Boston

Posted 16-Oct-2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Tear it down and build another one!
Location: Location was perfect
Possibly the WORST hotel in Boston...hands down! Dirty hairs on bathroom floor, blood stains on sheets, torn-up mattress cover...simply the worst.

Hotel was in a great place, close to many restaurants and a simple walk to all destinations or T. Staff was nice and building is secure. My biggest issue was the cleanliness. Room contained mold across the wall above the bed, in the bathroom at the corners of the tub and walls. Duvet hadn’t been cleaned in I don’t know how long and carpets were sketchy to walk barefoot. Same with the bath tub. There was cover placed on the bottom of the tub to hide the grime and/or damage below. Hotel is old, which is okay, but room standards should be higher. Especially at $100-$200 a night.

Just what I needed for business travel

Posted 13-Oct-2017
Pros: Friendly & helpful staff. Quiet and clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Nice hot shower. Reasonable price.
Cons: Wi-fi is weak in the rooms.
Location: Everything is within walking distance - restaurants, shops, attractions, transportation.
I needed a place to stay in Boston that was close to the train station and the conference that I was attending at the very expensive hotel down the street. Boston Common was perfect. Although the building is older, my room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was a short walk from the Boston Back Bay station and there was a bunch of restaurants and other shops within walking distance. The hotel staff was absolutely excellent - super-friendly and helpful. I printed notes for my presentation that morning in their business center, but unfortunately, the toner cartridge was out. Because I was in a hurry, the woman at the front desk printed it for me from her computer. (I wish I knew her name - I would give her a big thank you!) The wi-fi is weak in the rooms, but I just tethered to my phone and didn't have any problems. I would definitely stay there again.

Run down, moldy, smelly, icky

Posted 12-Oct-2017
Pros: It is located close to some great stuff.
Cons: It could re-carpet, refurbish and update the bathrooms, replace the furniture, hide the pipes and cables in the walls. clean the elevators and paint.
Location: Good location. Close to Boston Public Library, Copley station and lots of great places to eat.
Have you ever wanted to travel to the past? Before wifi? Before touch-tone phones? Before flat screen TVs? This hotel will bring you back 30-40 years. To my untrained eyes it seems that nothing has been updated since 1974. The floor smelled like mold and the grout in the shower whispered that we should have stayed somewhere else. We found it to be pretty gross but told ourselves that the sheets and towels were probably cleaned by an industrial facility and could tough it out for one night. We did it. Nobody was rude to us.

Close to Back Bay Station

Posted 12-Oct-2017
Pros: Location was central. Check-in and check-out were very swift.
Cons: The bathroom and the carpet could use a bit of renovation / updating.
Location: There are many restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance. Public transport is also close-by.
If you're researching this price point, this hotel does the job. Rooms are spacious. Location is a convenient jumping off point for seeing central Boston in that it is close to the T and the Amtrak stations. The bathroom and the decor were a little worn, but not off-putting to me. Check-in and check-out were efficient. Many restaurants and shops in the area. Would recommend to anyone visiting the city and is not too fussy about amenities.

Good location but old worn

Posted 9-Oct-2017
A little afraid as single female traveler. I was in my room by 8pm each night for even the hallway was scary on the 7th floor. NO WIFI in rooms. Dirty dirty carpets; towels had holes in them; room small even for me - two people couldn’t move around in there. Only good points - beds were clean, location.
