This place is really cool and has a great view. It was icy and snowy weather and it's about an hour from Ring Road so very much out of the way. The puffins are only there in the summer and the town is tiny so not much to do or see in winter. But the small brewery is nice and the rooms are great. Staff is super friendly. Not sure we'd stay here if we had it to do again, but enjoyed it.

Staff Went Out of Their Way to Help
We had a flat tire en route to the Blabjorg, so unfortunately, dealing with that consumed most of our time there. The hotel staff & manager were all incredibly helpful negotiating with our car company and a local mechanic to get the (unrepairable) tire replaced. Thank you! The hotel room itself was quite comfortable, and we had a pleasant breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

After driving a long distance, we arrived at this remote, quiet town after dark at 8:30 pm. We were startled by the warm welcome at the guesthouse reception and the very swanky, foodie vibe of the attached restaurant, Frystiklefinn. We managed to order dinner before the kitchen closed - enjoyed their very interesting dishes and beer. Note, we stayed in the "hostel" annex, which has a large common area and kitchen, and shared hall baths/WC. The hotel has other rooms with in-room bath/WC. While my companion is not a fan of shared baths/WC, our hall neighbors were quiet and respectful, so the arrangement was fine. Our room was small, but very pretty (such a comfortable bed!). Great shower and fantastic breakfast buffet (included in room rate), served in aforementioned restaurant, Frystiklefinn. One of the best breakfasts in our 11-day trip. FYI, this guesthouse has fee-based spa amenities, which we did not use.

Great place to explore the Eastern fjords and fabulous hiking nearby. Everything was good but the bedrooms ( we were in the apartment) were a bit stuffy with no windows to be opened. A great place to stay and eat.

This was a gem of a property. The rooms were small but clean. There are a small number of rooms with private bathrooms, in a motel-style building so you park near your room and have an exterior door. There is also a guesthouse portion of the building next door which has shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Parking is on the upper level, and you walk down a flight of stairs to get to the reception desk, restaurant, and spa. The spa is a set of two outdoor heated pools and a cold plunge pot, plus an infrared sauna and hot tub. Drinks can be ordered poolside. The restaurant is very nice with great service, if a bit expensive. There is a tiny grocery store across the street. The room as well appointed and the bathroom was by far the biggest and nicest of all the places we stayed around Iceland--a double sink and a very large shower, plus a mini fridge, safe, and coffee maker in the room.

Great host. Responsive even in the middle of the night when we were lost. Immaculately clean!!! And right on the water with spectacular view!!! Wished we could have stayed another night and used the spa. Really good breakfast provided. We were in the guesthouse portion, and it was great!

Gorgeous room with a great view, tasteful decor with beautiful wooden furniture in the room - they also had a safe, coffee machine and smart TV which was nice. Super helpful and smooth reception service, and one of the few double beds we had in Iceland that wasn’t two single beds pushed together! Food in the restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast too, and the breakfast staff was very accommodating.

One of our best stays on the ring road! People were very nice. It was about 10 minutes from the Puffins. Room was excellent. Nice view over the water from a little deck. Onsite restaraunt, which was good. Also had a good breakfast which was included. Would stay here again.

Puffin Viewing Paradise.
Stayed in one of their Comfort Studio (Apartment) rooms. Great room with all you'd need for a stay (appliances, places to comfortably rest, eat, etc). The location of these apartments were the real draw. This apartment was right on the waterfront with an amazing view of the mountains on the other side of the fjord. It is also a short drive from Halfnarholmi (Puffin Marina) ...likely THE best spot to view Puffins in the summer in Iceland. Thousands of them there, and you could get within feet of quite a few. If you want to see Puffins, a stop in Borgarfjordur Eystri is a must, and this location was fantastic.

This place is lovely! It is about 45 minutes outside of Ring Road but it is worth a detour to stay here. The views out of the rooms are incredible the spa is very very nice, and the room is clean comfortable stylish and chic. The spa does cost extra to the room. 3900 ISK/ pp to use which came as a surprise to us until we received the welcome email from the hotel. But, it is very nice and being in a hot tub with this view was worth it to us.

This was our favorite stay in Iceland because of the warm welcome, beautiful surroundings, and local feel! We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, and while the downstairs bedroom was small, there was plenty of space in the living room, kitchen, and dining room. We ate dinner and breakfast at the guesthouse and both were delicious! We liked the Landi moonshine so much (it is so smooth to drink!) that we bought some to bring home with us. We also enjoyed the beers and the local Icelandic folklore told to us during dinner. While the outside spa is still under construction, we spent an hour in the indoor hot tub and sauna with large windows with the view of the fjord. I would recommend the Blabjorg Guesthouse to anyone who wants to get off the beaten path and truly relax and enjoy nature.

Great location, although we did get snowed in due to the mountain pass being closed right after we made it across. Spent an extra night there. I think it was only us and one other set of guests. Staff was so welcoming and accommodatating, making sure that we had everything we needed and were comfortable during our stay. They were also very proactive and responsive in keeping us updated on the road conditions. Absolutely loved it and would definitely stay again.

This was a highlight stay in Iceland the roadway leading to the blabjorg is newly paved with spectacular views. We arrived and we’re greeted warmly by Solee who showed us the spas and a great apartment. The highlight was dinner which was locally sourced and delicious complimented by their locally brewed beers and distilled landi. I highly recommend this as a destination. It seems out of the way but worth the trek

Pros : loved it , cleanist place i been too, food were very good as well. Cons: no hottub wish they mentioed something about not having them at the time of the stay. It could be language barrier but the guy that chcked us in was little rude when i try to ask a question.

I am sorry that you missed our message sent to you on Sun, Sep 4 12:32 AM, informing about the hot tubs not being available outside, and that the inside spa facilities are the only spa facilities at the moment. But due to that we are offering our clients to use the indoor facilities complimentary, instead of paying 3.000 ISK for the spa, per person. The place is fantastic. From location to the services they provide everything was great. The restaurant makes a really good meal. The breakfast was very good compared to other places in Iceland. I just wish the bed was more comfortable. The pillows could stand to be firmer as well.

Great place on the water. Construction is happening to expand but wasn’t happening when we were there. Host/bartender was a great young man who grew up in the area and was very helpful. Beer brewers on site… great place!

If you want to stay in a unique loction in Iceland, this isvyour place! A bit far from the "big city", but it has an endless amount of hiking trails. Be warned, you must drive in the mountains a short while to here. However, it is well worth journey. Staff is awesome, the restaurant was wonderful with unbelievable drinks. 10/10 recommend.

We arrived after hiking to Storurd (giant boulders with blue ponds). One of our top hikes after 2 weeks so far. Blabjorg was 15 minutes down the hill. We stayed in late Sept 2021 and even though it was raining and the puffins had already departed we thought it was a perfect location. We were lucky enough to book the fully furnished studio apt with whole window wall facing the ocean. We had private deck & unobstructed view of incoming waves which washed ashore kelp during the night. Hosts were lovely/ friendly and ALL of their staff equally perfect. Dinner offerings were a refreshing change of options after 2 weeks of the same - hamburgers, fish & chips, lamb. Try the fish stew, I loved it. Bfast was simple but made special by the homemade jams (try them or you will miss out on something special), crackers, bfast bars. We of course loved the espresso machine that fed our coffee addiction. Coffee jump starts are so important when daylight hours are spent on adventures ( not much time to sleep….will do that when get home 😉). Definitely make the effort to stay here!

Worth a stay
Worth a visit, there is a nice relaxing spa overlooking the waterfront. It's a great place to relax after a long drive around Iceland.
