The Chartrons district, bordering the riversides of the Garonne, extends from the Public Garden in the south to the Wine Cité in the North. The old facades have been restored and the streets are lively. Warehouses now accommodate bars, restaurants, homes, but also companies and schools. Antique shops, decoration shops and art galleries have flourished in large numbers in the area. The charm of Les Chartrons is often associated with that of a small village, you will have the opportunity to pass in front of the church of Saint Louis, classified as a Historic Monument. On the Chartrons quay, you can enjoy a shopping session at the Outlet Center: the Quai des Marques. Several major branded factory outlets are present and offer advantageous prices. The Halle des Chartrons hosts many cultural events such as concerts or exhibitions as well as a market. Art and culture lovers can also visit the Museum of Contemporary Art. The city centre is easily accessible by public transport.

The Bordeaux Maritime district, where Bacalan is a former commercial port, is today a lively district of Bordeaux that combines both urban planning and tradition. Typical houses are found alongside recent buildings and new residential areas. Green spaces take an important place in this district, especially with the 8 hectare forest. The Bordeaux-Lake district being nearby, it is an opportunity to swim there in the summer afternoons or to sail, or paddle. Music lovers can take advantage of the Quay Hangar to discover the FRAC Aquitaine, Les Vivres de l'Art or the I-Boat, the legendary concert stage in Bordeaux.
