Recently updated home in Hound Ears resort with fantastic central location. With three bedrooms each with their own private bath, this home also features a two-sided fireplace, WiFi and chef's kitchen to comfortably accommodate up to six with two queens and one king. ACCOMMODATIONS: Main level: Master with king, master bath with walk in shower; powder room Lower level: Second bedroom with queen and private bath with walk-in shower, third bedroom with queen bed and private bath We came to get away from home for a bit. We went snow tubing and ziplining. We drove thirteen hours to get here from Miami FL and it was worth it to enjoy the splendor of winter! We went sledding behind the house, tubing, ice skating and snowboarding at sugar. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we ate all of our meals and spent our downtime here. The small town of Boone and 'Peace of Mind' gave us so many beautiful memories that will forever be treasured. We can't wait to come back! Rustic meets modern in this recently updated wooded retreat located in Hound Ears Club, just a fifteen minute drive to Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. While nestled among the trees, the home has a beautiful view from its upper and lower level decks. With level entry and a Master Suite on the main floor, Peace of Mind is also a great option for those with limited mobility. Featuring a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, the open floor plan of the home allows for a large living room area, where the unique two-sided stone fireplace is ready to light, dining space with seating for up to four, and the best part – a true chef's kitchen with Thermador Professional Series range featuring four gas burners, center griddle and 5.0 cubic feet of oven space. This luxury kitchen has all the accoutrements necessary for the gourmet in your family, with additional seating for four at the bar. Another family room with a half bath lies just beyond the kitchen, where a large flat screen HD television is available to watch the big game or the latest flick, while again enjoying the unique fireplace! Just past this cozy nook is the main floor master bedroom – featuring a king bed with deck access and a large bathroom with Jack and Jill sinks. Downstairs you'll find two additional bedrooms, each with queen beds and private baths, both with lower level deck access, and one with a flat screen HD television with cable access. There is also television nook between the two bedrooms with a cozy couch. Comfortable for up to six, Peace of Mind is an ideal retreat for adult couples, or a family looking for a home that feels private without sacrificing access to local attractions like Tweetsie Railroad and Grandfather Mountain. Stay at this serene retreat during your visit to the High Country, and truly experience Peace of Mind. \- Rental guests cannot access any Hound Ears Club amenities or buildings, including golf, pool, tennis, or the restaurant; as per Club rules updated in late 2023\. \-Please note that due to neighborhood restrictions, reservations may only be booked more than 3 days, or 72 hours, prior to arrival. Guests must complete an information form for the Hound Ears neighborhood upon booking, and the reservation will be approved based on the form. Additional Important Notes: \- Motorcycles are strictly prohibited inside the Hound Ears community. \- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided. \- Rental guests cannot access any Hound Ears Club amenities or buildings, including golf, pool, tennis, or the restaurant; as per Club rules updated in late 2023\. \- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am \- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. \- No smoking inside the home. We were very pleased. We came for graduation. It was close to everything. I would suggest that the house get a good metal shovel as we needed to shovel the drive on arrival and only found a plastic shovel and a broom. Made it kind of hard. The caution about 4 wheel drive vehicle is important as the inclines are sometimes steep. We would rent again here. ##### Jean C. Drive up to the house is windy and steep, but that’s how it works to get the view and be in the tree tops. Porches are lovely to take in the views and see deer. Only thing I would note is that the address was different on the listing map than what it actually is, and we had to delay our check in because they had a gentleman blowing leaves and taking trash and we couldn’t access the driveway after the 4 pm check in. If I were to say anything needed changing, it would be the lighting in the bottom floor bathrooms. It is way too bright and cool of a color temperature - could either use a dimmer or less wattage on the bulbs. All in all, a great rental - felt safe and it was extremely clean. ##### Katerina P. Layout spaces are limited in the main room, which provides no television or sound system. Plenty of televisions available throughout the house. Outside deck needs some updating, cleaning and repainting. Downstairs bathroom needs regrouping and drain de-clogger. Also could use an exterminator visit as camel crickets appeared in the downstairs bathroom. Heat exchange has a rough, noisy start and rattles the blinds in the far bedroom each time it runs. The upstairs master bathroom was not cleaned prior to our arrival as they was soap left over from the last guest and hair in the bathroom drain catcher. Again, if peace and quiet are the goal, this is a very peaceful community. ##### Sharon J. This property is perfect for families with teens. They had their own space downstairs where they could hang out and all be close together. The house is in a gated community golf community so it was quiet and secure, and you are less than 15 minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Boone. The rental company provided so much information ahead of the trip so I felt adequately prepared, and they were very responsive to my emails when I had questions. ##### Tonya F. The house was updated, clean and spacious. Perfect for 6 to 10 guests. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood was beautiful. When entering you find no Wi-Fi, a broken coffee maker, cobwebs in all the corners, soiled clothing from previous guest and broken televisions and pinball machines. Perfectly situated to visit Boone, Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, Linnville, Blowing Rock or Sugar Mountain. The gourmet kitchen was welcoming and made preparing meals so easy and enjoyable. The home was well appointed and had many comforts of home. The listing is fully representative of what you experience. It was clean and came equipped with basic starters supplies too! The neighborhood was peaceful and gated so we felt very secure. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the pet friendly accommodations too! We would definitely stay here again. The cabin was exactly how it was listed and having the name Peace of Mind is exactly what we experience. Very peaceful and a beautiful place. It wasn't too high up for our mother, even though she wouldn't look down. Our mom is more of a beach person but wanted to come because she knows how much our dad loves the mountains. But the look and excitement on our dad's face is truly something that we will treasure forever. We truly did enjoy everything and our parents took a lot of pictures. At one point we didn't understand why there was no TV in the room where the kitchen is located but quickly found out the reason. That room gave us a time to reflect back as well as look forward to the future, it gave us the time we needed as a family to really be connected to one another through conversation.
