Everything was good. The only reason I did not give 5 star rating was because property was going through construction to improve and needed access to room to measure. It was only a slight inconvenience and for the purpose of upgrade so… The carpet was fraying but I assume that will also be fixed in upgrade. Staff was excellent as well as breakfast amenities.

Room was not clean. Had mold in the shower and bathroom floor was not clean. There was food in the AC vent. The curtain had a hole in it. The furniture is old and scratched up.

A few things about my stay: -The toilet hadn't been cleaned, and I don't think the tub had been either. There was no soap, and the alarm clock was unplugged. -It was snowing outside, and the AC unit would only blow cold air until I turned it up to 75. There are no blankets on the beds, just a sheet and a duvet, and since many people avoid hotel duvets because they aren't usually washed between guests, any sanitation-conscious guests end up with just a sheet. Even when the heat finally started working it stayed ice cold in the room. After a mostly sleepless night wearing my heaviest clothes, as I was packing to leave I noticed the window was open an inch, hidden behind the curtains. I've never even seen an opening hotel window. I'm not sure it's fair to blame that on the housekeeper who didn't clean the toilet, but I feel like when it's below freezing, closing the window ought to be on the room prep checklist. It felt like a lot of attention hadn't been paid to making the room ready for the next guest. -The furnishings, or at least some of them, badly need replacing. The table is ancient, scarred, and splashed with blue paint for some reason; the lamps are old enough that they don't have charging plugs; and the alarm clock came straight from the 90s. The nightstand can't be pushed back against the wall because of the outlet. The bathroom ceiling has been badly repainted. Overall, though the wallpaper looks new, the room feels worn out. -The sheets were nice and clean.

It was okay, the inside was just old, my room was very dusty. The chair in my room at my desk looked very dirty, The AC vent air smelled like pee when i decided to use it. It’s also very old. The shower curtain in the bathroom doesn’t fit the shower so there is water that comes out onto the floor when you shower. They do have Dove soap though. :)

Too expensive for what you get
I stay in a lot of hotels and this one is way overpriced for what you get. Most places that I stay, this hotel would have been 1/3 less expensive. There was nothing that made it a great hotel, it was just a room. There wasn't even a refrigerator in the room.

When reservations made, requested that all rooms be together; upon check-in discovered could not be done and no changes could be made as sold out. We not only were not close to each other, we were all on different floors (4 rooms in group). My room (#201) was less than clean with mildew/mold in bathroom; shower curtain was torn, so unable to use shower; evidence of used syringes in dresser drawer. In addition, no refrigerator or microwave in room (all others in group had these amenities). Furniture beat up and not up to normal standards (based on many stays, both business and pleasure) in that beat up and scarred; chairs stained. Guest had spilled large amount of water and ice cubes in one of elevators, causing hazard. This was reported to front desk multiple times; finally, someone gathered up several towels to mop up and left pile of towels in elevator until next day. Piles of general trash left in hallway in front of elevators. Breakfast Buffet provided with undercooked sausage.

I am sorry if you were told by the third party that the rooms would be close together. There were no notes made on the reservation by the third party to let us know that you wanted to be close to each other. The room type that was booked through the third party was a standard room with two queen beds, this room type does not have a refrigerator or microwave int eh room. We are in the beginning stages of a renovation of the entire hotel. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you again in the future when you are back in town.

It was an impulse trip to go skiing at Appalachian Mountain. The hotel was very nice and new. Great breakfast at the hotel with plenty of food and shopping within walking distance. Only a few easy minutes to the ski area.

Quick ski trip
My family stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Boone following a quick ski trip, and we were happy with our lodging. In fact, there was a room making excessive noise across the hall when we arrived and after I notified the receptionist, it was quickly taken care of. We enjoyed the breakfast as well, especially the cinnamon rolls!

Needs better cleaning and updates
Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in major need of updates. Room did not have a mini fridge, microwave, or safe. The vents in the bathroom were moldy and bathroom has no fan. The downspout was sticking out of the wall. The toilet had mold stains on the porcelain. The HVAC unit was extremely dirty and moldy hence we did not turn it on and had two very cold nights.

A Christmas vacation with Family
The hotel and most of the staff were very courteous and friendly. However, the lady in charge of keeping the breakfast area stacked and cleaned was rude and confrontational. The hotel's hot water was not working until our last day of the trip, but the room was cleaned, spacious and the hotel's common area was well decorated and very clean. The overall stay was good and relaxing.

We booked this hotel because we had pretty good experiences with other chain hotels of Holidayinn. However we were unlucky because the hotel is in process of fixing their hot water system and we didn’t have hot water for the night. The good thing was that the hotel allowed us to check out earlier and significantly reduced the rate. The hotel room was clean and spacious. However the heater was very loud and woke me every time it started. The front desk staff was very nice and patient, which may be the only thing I enjoyed this stay.
