Ramada Hotel is a classic, traditional hotel in Guayaquil located in the downtown area, which is very walkable, although you should still be cautious when walking around. Right across the street is the Malecón, which has security, and transportation can easily pick you up or drop you off at the entrance, making it safer. The hotel has been there for many years and, as I was told, is currently undergoing renovations. The room I stayed in had not yet been renovated, but it was still spacious, comfortable, and perfectly fine for a stay. The pool and other amenities were great, and the breakfast was very good, including a couple of traditional Ecuadorian dishes.

Well priced budget hotel. About a 20 minute walk from the old historic central, but we took a walking route down stairs that avoided traffic. The old town itself is beautiful with murals and restored colonial buildings.
