The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all. NOTE: Parking is limited to 4 vehicles Max 2 dogs allowed Linens are available for $20/person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels. All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. Max occupancy at all times is 8, violation will result in removal without refund. Both Shauna & Jennifer were very responsive and the cottage was very clean and organized. It came with everything (and then some!) We would need for kitchen supplies. We brought our senior golden retriever who also had a great visit. The location is very private, with amenities an easy 10 minute drive away. Aug 25, 2025 #### Amazing sunsets and well-equipped cottage Our family of 5 adults had the pleasure of staying at Turkey Perch cottage for a week in August. When we arrived it was super HOT (note that there is no AC, but many fans provided) and the lake is right there for a dip. As the weather cooled off significantly, we enjoyed camp fires and the hot tub, along with great meals on the BBQ. Cottage has everything you need. Small but modern kitchen with dishwasher. Jennifer is an amazing, attentive and thoughtful host -- the best! We would happily rent from Cottage Stays again.
