Elmslie Oasis: Lakefront! Beautiful Sunsets

Experience the charm of Spring at Elmslie Oasis! Enjoy stunning lakefront sunset views, cozy up by the fireplace, and make unforgettable memories in this charming cottage. Book now for an unforgettable Spring getaway!

Find your happy place at the First on Elmslie, a country oasis with a lush yard and private lake beach. Sip a glass of wine in front of the fireplace, admire Lake Huron's blue waters from the shore, or curl up in an armchair and gaze out at the greenery. Spend mornings listening to birdsong over breakfast, afternoons go for a hike, and evenings together watching the sunset.

INSIDE
Cottage is open concept. A spacious and fully equipped kitchen means every chef in the group can lend a hand in preparing meals. Dine al fresco or in a sunny nook, then retire to the living area to relax and reconnect.

Gather around the gas fireplace play a game. Or chill with your bestie in the separate sitting area overlooking lake.

WiFi is available, though most guests opt to pore over novels in front of the fireplace or grab a cold drink from the beverage fridge and a handcrafted board game from the Michaud Toys collection. You'll also have access to all the necessary amenities, including a washer and dryer.

NOTE: there is no TV but feel free to bring your own device. WIFI speed is approx 50mpbs

OUTSIDE
Make a fire in the backyard, grill up some steaks, and gossip over a cup of hot chocolate.

NOTE: depending on water levels there may be a small amount of beach but there is always lots of beach on the wall (see pics there's lots of room to play and chillax) Although there is access to the beach, it can be slippery.
Take approx 80 stairs down your private access to the lake. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Even if it's stoney...it's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

SLEEPING SPACES

EXPERIENCE BAYFIELD
With wooded trails, scenic country vistas, and stunning Lake Huron, Bayfield is a beautiful place to explore no matter the season. Bring your hiking boots and plan a trip during leaf-peeping season for a display of color. Several weeks later, the snow starts to fall and guests can enjoy the quiet of winter and crunch through the
snow in evergreen forests or try out the snowshoe trails on the river flats.

You're just five minutes from White Squirrel Golf Club with winter hiking trails and winter golf for those die-hard links lovers. Explore downtown Bayfield, just two minutes away, browsing the unique boutiques and stopping for a hot coffee at one of the quaint cafes. We're happy to suggest our favorite local spas, wineries and breweries, including Dark Horse Estate Winery with a tasting room as well as an outdoor skating rink. If you prefer hops over vines, Bayfield River Road Brewing has an outdoor tasting room to enjoy the craft brews.

First cottage trip with the kids
We had such a great weekend staying here. Everything we could’ve needed was available in the kitchen once we got our groceries. All spices, pots, pans, oils, sugar, even coffee was provided and it was enough for us as we only stayed for a weekend. The private beach area was perfect for the kids! We set up a little sun shelter, and the kids played in the sand in our own area. The water was too cold as we were there at the beginning of June, but it was still a perfect beach trip for us regardless. The cottage itself was clean, and we enjoyed being there for our stay. We will be back!

Paradise on the shores of Lake Huron
This is a charming, very comfortable cottage, with an absolutely stunning view of the lake. You can hear the waves of Laken Huron crashing! A central fireplace kept us warm in early April, and lent a wonderful atmosphere to this cozy cottage. Although we didn’t use it in April, the backyard is very private and has a beautiful fire pit area and gardens. Definitely a 10! Only about a 5 minute drive to Bayfield for some great trails, shopping … and The Black Dog. Great little Pub in town. Loved our time here at Elmslie ❤️

Beautiful Bayfield
This spot made for a fun, 4-day getaway in late October. Bayfield was super cute and so was this property. Had a great dinner at Hub on the Docks. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit, but during the weather breaks the view was gorgeous and the cottage itself was clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the firepit area (during a short break in the rain) once we figured out how to get the back lights on. We were with a family group so it would have been great if there were a larger table for all of us to sit at for dinner. The hightop games table is not really compatible for that. The kitchen was fairly well equipped but confusingly organized. We had to ad-lib for a lack of a large spaghetti pot or strainer. An overall lack of lighting in the living room made it difficult to play games together at night. The listing was described as pet-friendly, but through on-going communications after we had already put down our deposit we found there were numerous limits to that: "1 small dog" happened to work for our tiny, well-behaved pup, but wouldn't for many families. He wasn't allowed on the furniture, or to be left alone at any time, and always needed to be immediately cleaned up behind, as any evidence of fur or droppings meant additional charges. This made it a hard to relax and was certainly tricky when it came to sight-seeing as we were meant to always have him along, when he would have been much happier napping at home. There were other policies in place that we also found a bit restrictive - the property is monitored by a surveillance system that apparently includes tracking for noise and number of internet connections. We were told the cameras would be turned off just before and after our stay, but there was no real way to ensure that had been done. The noise monitor had us a bit jumpy with a couple of very well-behaved but typically boisterous teens in tow. We understand that it's probably nerve-wracking to have many strangers on your property, and this was obviously a policy meant to inhibit huge parties. Perhaps this owner has been burned before. But for a small, family-oriented group it all felt rather oppressive, and the language in the orientation documents was full of warnings and condescension (e.g. notes on how to travel with your dog: he/she will probably be scared, bring toys!); it could have been more welcoming and helpful. All in all, it was a nice stay and we would book here again. Would love to enjoy it in nicer weather!

Lovely Fall Getaway
From the moment we walked into this beautiful cottage with a view of the lake, with the welcome notes and homemade pet treats for my little dog and the care taken with the decor we felt instantly at home. Spotlessly clean with a kitchen that had everything needed and a backyard with stairs leading to a private shoreline view - we loved our short time and would come back again.

I was so happy with the kitchen and the stock in the kitchen. The property was clean and had the best view from the back. The fire pit was a big thing for us also. Beds were comfy and rooms were clean roomy and decorated so nicely
