Gas fireplaces are operational from approximately Oct. 1 to April 1\. Not operational in summer. The cabin and hot tub are professionally cleaned and disinfected in between every guest stay. We use bromine, not chlorine. No pets allowed and absolutely no smoking inside or on decks. This is a wood cabin. Limited check out chores. Garbage should be secured in the outdoor bins, used towels dropped in the tub and the dishwasher turned on. Booking guest must be at least age 23 to book this cabin and must be present for the duration of the rental. Booking this cabin requires a signed a rules acknowledgment pdf and proof of age ID from the person booking (to be completed within 48 hours). Failure to sign acknowledgment means your booking is not reserved. The person booking must be present at the cabin during the reservation. Exterior cameras on driveway and door. Motion activated. During checkout VRBO will offer you a choice of either $59 insurance payment to cover up to $1500 of damage or you can pay a $1500 deposit. We recommend the $59 coverage! If you choose to have VRBO take an extra $1500 it will be charged at the time of your reservation and you will not receive it back until 14 days after your stay. VRBO will charge your credit card and hold this deposit not us! If you have any questions please ask before booking! Little things like having multiple lamps rather than just overhead lighting makes it feel like a home. The porches and wonderful. Husband and I came up with 2 of our daughters and their spouses and 2 of our grandsons. We did a little site seeing, went to the Apple Festival . We relaxed around the fire pit ate hotdogs and s’mores ! After the kids went to bed we got to enjoy the hot tub . The place is very up to date and has everything you need in a stay ! We enjoyed the porch views, fire pit, hot tub, pool table, grill, and comfy beds. The area is peaceful and quiet. We spotted a family of deer, went to Merciers, explored downtown Blue Ridge, and so much more. Our two year old loved the bears and books. We arrived late at night and it was almost pitch black. It was easy to find, the hosts were very communicative, and the cabin is fabulous--great for a girls weekend getaway. It rained and stormed while we were there, almost felt we were right in the middle of it, very cool! There’s so much to do in the cabin that we didn’t mind the weather. The hot tub and deck are covered, and with the pool table and games this cabin is a great choice for rainy or winter weather. Owner/management top-notch and very friendly. Our family needed a vacation very badly with our college daughter needing a major surgery at the end of June on her hip! This cabin was everything we needed and more! We have stayed in many VRBO’s and a couple of different cabins but we can honestly say this stay was our favorite!!! The name Solitude was perfectly fitting for this cabin as it felt like we had the mountain to ourselves! We were only 20 minutes from Blue Ridge and other activities in the area. The host was phenomenal with responding to questions and met all our expectations!!! If you need a break from your busy life we recommend this cabin as your place of rest and relaxation!!! They provide all the little things some people tend to need. It was great to have the extra luxuries like the coffee, creamer and other niceties. There was a special gift that was given to say thank you that was absolutely awesome. I will not spoil that surprise. Take advantage of all the local businesses. Merciers is amazing. This was my second stay at Solitude this year. This time it was a girls weekend and everything was just as perfect as the first. We utilized all the amenities of the cabin. We enjoyed the new hot tub, fire pit (s'mores!), streamed movies upstairs and downstairs, loved the gas fireplaces, porches all while admiring the beautifully decorated cabin with Christmas decorations. The beds are so comfortable with soft linens. The cabin is simply wonderful for friends as each of us had our own space on each floor. We have decided to make this an annual event and will keep coming back to Solitude as long as it available. Appreciate the communication with Kathy and the cleanliness of the cabin. My family and (husband and 13 yr. old daughter) I stayed for a couple of days, and enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer! Spacious, great AC, beautiful views, pool table, hot tub (that we couldn't turn the heat up on past 94 degrees, so heads up on that. Might've just been a user error though, hard to say), comfy beds and couches, and well stocked kitchen! Our only complaint was the noise. Our first morning there, we tried to have a peaceful breakfast on the deck, but had to listed to the sound of heavy trucks and construction equipment, as they are working on the roads we think.
