Mountaintop Getaway is perfectly situated on a secluded end-lot on top of a mountain in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The spectacular, nature-oriented, long-range view overlooks 70 unencumbered miles into three states. Mountaintop Getaway was professionally decorated with every rustic finish imaginable to give our guests the sense that they have truly escaped into pure serenity within the mountains. In May, 2021 Mountaintop Getaway underwent extensive renovations by a master craftsman, who was the original builder of the cabin. We landscape engineered one of the coolest features you will find at any rental cabin - a backyard gaming oasis for cornhole and horseshoes that has custom built pitch tracks with field turf bordered by rustic railroad ties. The gaming oasis includes throwing pads on cement platforms, solar powered LED lights on mounted poles, all gaming accessories and an outdoor speaker system. The custom woodworking around the gaming oasis includes a 12’ live edge cedar bench for seating, 4’ high horseshoe pit backdrops, an entertainment console, and two large stumps that were meticulously converted to end tables. New cathedral glass, aluminum screening and logs were replaced in certain areas. There was a shed added to cover firewood next to the bonfire pit. We added a premium generator to protect against power outages, and for guests to have peace of mind during storms and inclement weather. The cabin is conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and next to a myriad of recreational activities such as the Ocoee River (home of the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Rafting Competition), Lake Blue Ridge, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, horseback riding, hiking trails, and so much more. We’ve recently added a charming mini orchard to the property, featuring apple, pear, peach, and plum trees thoughtfully planted to enhance your stay. This serene corner of the cabin grounds invites you to slow down, enjoy the mountain air, and connect with nature. The views were stunning; especially in the morning. The above and beyond touches were noticed and well appreciated from many entertainment options (board game shelf, Ms. Pac-man arcade game, poker table, XBox, corn hole, horseshoes) to the motion lights for safety and even labeling of all the light switches! This house was definitely designed by one who is used to hosting guests! We loved the house and the area and hope to be able to stay here again! ##### Rachel C. The Master Bedroom upstairs (aka loft) was not enclosed and has the only private bathroom. There were eight of us however we had to buy towels to have enough for bathing and hot tub! Still a great property and overall a nice stay! Location was perfectly located close to downtown and near Bear Claw Winery! ##### Cassie L. My family has enjoyed an annual weekend of whitewater rafting and staying in a mountain cabin for years, so we've stayed in many cabins. The unanimous opinion from the family is that this is our favorite. Here's a few reasons why: the property is a gaming family's paradise, with board games, an arcade machine, video games, a card table, corn hole, horseshoes, and more. The views are magnificent. The hot tub is large and accessible. The property is super pet-friendly (we have dogs). The cabin decor is exquisitely mountain cabin themed. And finally, the attention to detail: switches are labeled, bath robes are available in each bedroom, both a coffee maker and a Keurig, and every kitchen need is addressed. We’ve stayed at this cabin three times now and it never disappoints! It’s tucked away in a private setting with beautiful views, a great hot tub and plenty of outdoor space for both the kids and our dogs to enjoy. Inside is cozy, comfortable and perfect for our family. Dave is also a fantastic host! Was super responsive and always on top of everything. We can’t wait to come back again! The view from the cabin deck was stunning, and we were able to see the fireworks down below from the comfort of the rocking chairs. I think my favorite room was the main bedroom upstairs, because we could lie in the bed at night and see the stars outside the floor to ceiling windows in the living area. The cabin was as described, very clean, comfortable and again a magnificent view from the deck. The property itself was so peaceful and relaxing we almost didn't want to leave it for our activities, which included Blue Ridge Tubing, Amicalola Falls State Park, Brasstown Bald, Fall Branch Falls, and other activies. The cabin's location is nestled close to both Blue Ridge and McCaysville. We loved it.Our only problem was no water in the cabin one night and then no water on the day we were leaving. The cabin is so beautiful that the inconvenience was worth it. We would definitely stay again. ##### Sherry K. It is truly breathtaking. The exterior amenities of the cabin are first class. We loved and used the firepit often and the horseshoe pit and cornhole games were first class and we couldn't have asked for a better gas grill. The road into the property was a little scary because it is so narrow but it is paved. Meeting a car coming in the opposite direction was very challenging. The setting of the property more than compensated for the road. The beds were comfortable. The living room furniture was nice to look at but comfort wise was just okay. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. Blue Ridge is a wonderful area with lots to do. While at the cabin we saw lots of birds, deer and squirrels. And again, the view was amazing!
