If you’re looking for a secluded mountainside retreat with an absolutely jaw-dropping mountain view, you’ve found it with the gorgeous three-bedroom Antler Ridge Hideaway. Spend the morning sipping coffee on the porch swing or in a rocking chair on your screened-in porch, and then spend the afternoon on the massive deck downstairs, taking in the view while you relax on the outdoor couch and soak in your private hot tub. Inside, you’ll find lots of knotty pine and cozy cabin decor. The well-equipped kitchen features a full set of stainless steel appliances and a dining table for six, though you’ll probably want to dine alfresco on the deck. The cozy living room is the perfect place to snuggle up in front of the gas fireplace and stream a movie or play a board game. If you’ve got any remote work to catch up on, there’s an office nook in the main bedroom suite – but you’ll probably be too distracted by the view. Downstairs, you’ll find another family room with a TV, dry bar, a gas fireplace, and a pool table, perfect for a friendly game. When you’re ready to explore, this home sits right on the Benton MacKaye Trail. The Appalachian Trail, apple orchards, waterfalls, river tubing, and kayaking are all nearby as well. At the end of the day, fire up the gas grill and play a game of corn hole while night falls. An evening of conversation around the fire pit, another soak in the hot tub, and a game of pool cap off a perfect mountain day – with another to come tomorrow. THINGS TO KNOW Streaming services are available using your own account. A queen sofa bed provides extra sleeping space. A Pack ’n Play and baby gate are available. 4WD is required in the winter. The little things that were dirty or broken add up. Mattress in second bedroom upstairs was sunken in, if you looked under the bed you can see a huge dip in the mattress. Also, I found dirt in the bedsheets the first night. There were 4 lightbulbs out over the pool table. The master bathroom shower head was dirty and rusty. There was a huge stain on the outside couch. The deck and outside chairs needed a power wash, there was mold growing and plastic chairs were getting dry rotted. The chemical dispenser in the hot tub had algae or mold growing on it. We couldn’t get the TV in the master bedroom to work, and it would be nice to have newer and larger TVs throughout the house, especially in the living room. Despite needing updates, the cabin was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. The drive up the mountain can be sketchy because it is steep and the roads are narrow in places. Meeting another vehicle required me to reverse down the steep hill at one point, so I would recommend AWD and someone who is confident driving on mountain roads. For the price, I expected the cabin to be more updated. If the things listed were fixed, I would definitely book again. ##### Megan M. There were 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 8-13) and we had plenty of space to lounge without getting in each other’s way! The view was absolutely beautiful and I enjoyed the majority of my time on the rocking chair in the screened-in porch! The house had everything a family needs for their stay! Pots, pans, baking sheets, coffee maker, plates/silverware and cups/mugs for 6\. There were not a lot of leftovers from other people’s stays, so we had to supply a lot of the seasonings and condiments we needed. The drive up is an adventure, to say the least. The cabin is about a mile up the mountain and it can get very steep in some places. We have a Chevy Traverse and made it up with the occasional sliding of tires. I would highly recommend a 4WD vehicle! We only drove in beautiful, dry weather, and I’m extremely thankful we didn’t have to go up or down in any rain! Most of the roads are wide enough for 1 car and made of dirt/gravel and there are LOTS of bumps along the way! The house is a perfect location on the mountain, about 600 ft off the main road so you don’t see the neighbors, but you can hear them when you’re sitting outside. The house is closed in by trees so you feel alone and we saw lots of deer close to the house! We brought my 2 dogs with us and they did so good! The furniture is mostly leather with hardwood floors throughout the cabin so we didn’t worry too much about scratches! It had ample space for my family of 4, plus my parents, and my brother. The pool table, game system, hot tub, huge deck space, fire pit, porch swings, Mountain View’s from inside and outside, comfort of the beds, and accessibility to nearby hiking trails were all amazing. The only thing I’d make sure to bring is cleaning spray like Meyers or something. Everything else like paper towels, sponge, and soap were provided. I’d always pack extra paper towels if it were me. Also, having an all/4 wheel drive is important. It’s a gravel road with many uneven areas. Go to Ingles in the town of Ellijay before you get there and don’t plan on leaving if you can help it. My bridesmaids and I stayed here for a weekend and we were all absolutely blown away by this cabin. So cute and secluded for the Twilight theme of my bachelorette party. If you’re looking for privacy this cabin offers it with exception of maybe a few passing deer. The Wi-Fi is a little spotty but there is a pool table, games, cornhole, arcade video game with several different games on it or just enjoy the views. The problems that we encountered were that the dishwasher would not work. We did call Vacasa and they were very responsive and sent a repairman out, but he told us that he was not there to repair it but to let the company know the situation. The decision on repair vs replace would be made by someone else. Therefore we were without a dishwasher for the entire time and we were doing most of our meals at the house. Secondly, neither of the fireplaces would light. Jack, the handyman did turn on the gas and get them working. Lastly, several light bulbs were out. We did find replacement bulbs and changed them except for the microwave light over the cooktop. The kitchen was very dark and that light over the stove would have helped a lot. Kitchen utensils and cookware were good. I would suggest a new can opener. We needed a pair of pliers to get the top off a can. Overall a very nice cabin with beautiful views. The hot tub was nice and the temperature was perfect. ##### Melanie R. It rained a good bit, but the screened porch still allowed us to get out and enjoy the view. Nice game room, plenty of outside decks and seating areas. I thought we'd be able to hike or trail walk, but the steep inclines didn't allow for that. We did walk the steep road leading up to the cabin, and that was fine. The home was exactly as described. Kitchen was well appointed. Just bring your food. We enjoyed the hot tub and firepit. The scorpions were fun to see and the view was spectacular. Their marketing, digital presence, tools, check-in/out are amazing. Whoever is in charge of their marketing should take over management of their property maintenance.
