As soon as we (my husband & 2 kids) arrived at the front desk we were greeted with a “I’m going to try and get you a discount.” from the manager on duty, Valencia. Apparently the previous occupants of the room we had booked had smoked in the nonsmoking room, as well as left an overwhelming food stench. The manager took my information, as well as called another manager who informed us there was nothing they could do but send us a free one night stay at the same hotel. The manager proceeds to start taking us up to the room, as another visitor comes to the desk to complain of mold in his room. Again, they said nothing they could do. We get upstairs and file into the room, noticing the smell of cigarette smoke and who knows what else. Manager then sprays some heavy duty deodorizer all over the room then leaves. We are in the room for maybe 10 minutes, my daughter lays on her bed as we chat. When we get in the car she starts breaking out in hives. My husband and I decided we were not going to stay there. We went back after our dinner and checked out, when I told the staff on duty all she said was “Okay” and that was that. We booked another hotel down the road. Will not return.

We got to our room and the windows were open with 18 degree temperatures. Couldn’t adjust temp in room with heat. Bed is hard and uncomfortable. Front desk was unfriendly. Noisy neighbors.

When I checked in, the person helping me was slow, distracted by things going on in the room behind the check in desk. The elevator hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. The floor was very dirty as were the walls. I found plastic wrappings on the floor in my room on the floor. The WIFI password wasn’t listed anywhere, I had to call 3 times for anyone to answer the phone. If there had been rooms available anywhere else I would have asked for a refund and left. I travel quite a bit and don’t expect perfection, but this experience was one of my worst!

Too noisy.
Between the heater squealing at various times, something (couldn't figure out if it was in the bathroom or the hallway) clicking very loudly at random times, and being able to clearly hear guests in neighboring rooms who were up all night (they weren't being rowdy - I could hear their normal level conversation as clearly as if they were next to me), it felt like non-stop noise in the room making it hard to sleep. I also had an issue with checking in. I plan on returning to the area, but will not be staying here again.

My 2 windows were permanently locked open. I could not close or open them. Major safety issue. What if there’s a fire & I needed to climb out the window? Another guest told me several windows are like this. Employee told them it’s done this way to keep the street noise out. I think they just need to install new sound proof windows. Each time I entered/exited the hotel (about 4 times), no one was at the front desk. After staying at hotels for the last 35yrs as a flight attendant, I would never stay at this hotel again.

The kitchen area was dirty. We had to wipe the counters down with cleaning wipes. The outside of the refrigerator was dirty. The room smelled. We had to go but a room odor deodorizer just to tolerate the smell. There were little bus all over the widows, and window ledge. I had to continuously wipe them down to attempt to get rid of the bugs. Not a place we would stay ever again.

Smelled like something had died in my room - I requested a room change and was told there were no other rooms available and received 2 spray cans of odor neutralizer. Every time the air conditioner kicked in during the night, the reeking odor became overwhelming. Suspect it was urine in the carpet. I received a full refund instantly when I requested it, so I doubt the condition of this room was unknown to the desk clerks on duty at the time of my check-in and check-out. The room should have been pulled out of service. Absolutely disgusting.

Piles and piles of dog hair under all the furniture and I woke up with bites all over my legs . Showed lady at desk and she refunded one of my nights . There was not one place in the bathroom to sit your soap . Sink or in the shower. Didn’t won’t my room cleaned during the day and I asked for a sign to put on the door but they said they didn’t have anything . I could keep going but that’s enough

Took money through hotels.com when there was no room available. Front desk staff said the new housekeeper did not complete the rooms for several days resulting in turning many people with reservation away. They give you a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse and send you away stating they will not refund until the next day. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available in Bloomington Normal.

All front desk staff went above and beyond to help with questions or requests. Super nice and friendly. It’s an extended stay with kitchenette so they only serve muffins, granolas, oatmeal and coffee. Don’t be afraid to stay here based on past reviews some people you would never please.
