Good blueberry waffles.

Room 231 did not have a working AC. Slept the night in misery. Called for the second night and they moved me to Antarctica in room 235.

The room is comfortable with a nice view to the rolling hills. Breakfast passable. Convenient if you need to conduct business on Virginia tech campus.

This is an older motel and needs to be updated. The room was dirty.

Great if you are visiting VT

Posted 16-Jul-2016
Pros: Price, location, breakfast, outdoor pool. Great staff.
Cons: A sign at the entrance to the parking lot.
Location: Within three or so miles from VT.
I stayed for two night for the VT Orientation and it was a great decision - 5 minutes' drive from the University, right on the main street, but not too close to the road, affordable and comfortable for the money, breakfast included, an outdoor pool available for a hot day. It was exactly what I needed. The only hiccup was noisy neighbors - some sports team school kids next door who made a racket into wee hours of the morning, and a guy who liked his TV real loud on the other side! Happens at every hotel, though, right? The night manager tool care of the noise immediately, though, and I was grateful for that. Will definitely stay there again. If you go, be forewarned that the entrance into the hotel parking lot off the road is a bit hard to notice - don't drive by the way we did.

There was a dirty washrag hanging in the shower of my room and barely any toilet paper on the roll. Had to go to main office to get more

Not so clean not so friendly.

Posted 10-Apr-2016 on Orbitz
We arrived on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 7 PM. The female front desk attendant was not so friendly, didn't smile and was barley helpful in finding a restaurant. A little gracIousnes and warmth can go a long way in differentiating a hotel that is one amongst many. They only had a smoking room and this one smelled like an ashtray. The window did not open and so you could not air it out unless you left the front door open exposing the parking lot and people walking by. The breakfast service was adequate but the scrambled eggs were watery, leaving a yellow puddle in your plate wetting whatever other food was in the same plate. The sausages were microwaved and rubbery. The waffles were quite good. The man running the breakfast was very nice and very helpful. He was also diligent in keeping the place clean and tidy.

No wifi, pillows poor, shower good

Posted 3-Apr-2016 on Orbitz
WiFi was horrible. Told front desk, but it was still poor the next day. There are several pillows on the bed but none of them are good and I slept poorly both nights. Never been in a hotel with such poor pillows. The shower was the only good thing. Shower head had different settings, was powerful and water was hot. Room was clean too.

I mean it's alright I guess.

It was my first time staying in a hotel with the doors on the outside like a motel. It was different. I think I prefer hotels with doors on the inside. Overall it was fairly good. I did ask for a non-smoking room but the room smelled of cigarettes the whole time I was there.

Thank you for being our guest and thank you for providing feedback on your stay. It is never easy to hear that a guest's stay was only "fairly good" as we strive to provide each of our guests with great stay. Please accept our apologies for the smell of smoke in your guest room. Unfortunately, guests will occasionally decline to honor the no smoking status of their rooms and we try to catch that failure and to deep clean the rooms sufficiently that non-smoking guests are not negatively impacted. We obviously failed in that endeavor in the room you occupied. We have taken your feedback to heart and hope to have the opportunity to replace this experience with a positive one in the future.
