Pros: The check in was pleasant and easy
Cons: They could update the entire building and parking lot or tear it down and start over. Also, get rid of the junk pile/flea market in front of building
Location: Not far from places to eat but not walking distance either
Hotel was dingy and falling apart. The rooms had been updated a bit as far as decor but the tub/sink/floor were worn out and stain or cracked. Stale smell to the room was attempted to be covered up by strong air freshner

Stay here only if you absolutely have to

What can you expect for the price you pay? A lot more than what you get at this Days Inn location. The entire property needs a renovation...like 10 years ago. There are plenty of other, better choices in the Blacksburg/Christiansburg area. Strongly encourage you to pick those. Frankly, Expedia should use a little better judgement when it comes to certain affiliations-- this is one of those cases.

Hotel near Virginia Tech

Hotel was conveniently located to campus, but is very run down. Old motel style layout with paper thin walls. Guests use the balconies in front of the rooms to hang out. Was fine for a short one night stay with little else available in the area, but we won't likely return.

older place well kept. Close to VT. Quiet, never had any issues of noise or saftey. Breakfast is adequate. Same fellow works the food area and he keeps it clean.

Bad hotel

I did my reservation through Expedia. I reserved a non-smoking room. When I reached the hotel the receptionist told me there is NO nonsmoking room is available. He showed me after a long discussion the only available room, as he said, which is SMOKING room. Very stingy room not clean. The receptionist was very tough in his speaking.

Loud Crowd..

Overall a decent place to stay in terms of staff, cleanliness and location (to VT for example).. and as most hotels in area sell out for games, events in area, good fall back hotel if needing a room. But very disappointed in other guests / crowd both nights (Sunday / Monday) that we were there. Loud / congregating and partying on walk way outside of rooms, etc.. No one around to do anything about it. Safety wasn't a concern for me, but can see where it could be for others..

Okay for the price

Cons: cleaning, monitoring of grounds for noisy people, front desk staff shouldn't be on their cell phones
Location: VT
The staff was great upon check in and very helpful when I had to report a group of loud folks just outside my room. The room seemed fairly clean except when the door was closed in the bathroom. I don't think the cleaning crew has cleaned behind the door in a while. Breakfast was fine - the usual fair. Check out - the staff person had her back turned and was watching a video on her cell phone. A vacuum was running in the office right next to her so it took me several attempts to get her attention. She was very pleasant, but being on your phone watching a video when you are working just doesn't fly with me.

Nice and convenient

This hotel had had some bad reviews, but I tried it anyway due to the low cost. I was happily surprised! Nice front desk staff, very friendly. The gentleman working the breakfast room was very nice too. Great big breakfast and very clean breakfast room. The room was clean and very close to VT, making it an easy drive. The bed was a bit firm, but you can get that from any hotel. Although I didn't use the pool, it was well kept and looked inviting. Nice stay at a great price!
