Hotel is old and dirty.

Posted 24-Aug-2016
Cons: Cleanliness needs to be improved as well as replacing furniture, linen, rugs.
Location: Close to Virginia Tech and stores.
The hotel is old and dirty. The cleaning staff never cleaned our room. The garbage was not emptied. The beds were not made. A wet towel was replaced on the tub. There were dying bugs in the bathroom. The television reception was fuzzy. It truly needs to be upgraded for the price they are charging.

smelly and dirty

We reserved a king nonsmoking room and were given a king smoking room. We would have left but there were no other rooms available in the area.

Hotel convenient to VT.

Posted 22-Aug-2016
Pros: Location, was available
Cons: Updating would certainly improve overall appearance.
Location: There to enroll college student
Staff very helpful and friendly, overall room outdated and not very clean. Mold and cracking tub and shower area, smelled horribly of smoke.

Disgusting. Health risk.

Posted 7-Aug-2016
We requested a nonsmoking room due to asthmatic children, and got a nonsmoking room that reeked of cigarettes. People were smoking outside our room, and in the rooms next to us. The room was disgusting, and I wouldn't let the kids walk around barefoot. The bathtub was cracked and peeling, and the shower had little water pressure. If every hotel in the area wasn't full, we would have made reservations elsewhere. We will never return.

Good blueberry waffles.

Room 231 did not have a working AC. Slept the night in misery. Called for the second night and they moved me to Antarctica in room 235.

Non-smoking rooms smelled like smoke!

Posted 22-Jul-2016
Pros: The price was good. The breakfast was fine.
Cons: Definitely could use some upkeep!
Entered my non-smoking room and was hit in the face by the smell of smoke. Asked to be moved to another room. The next room was not quite as bad, but still smelled like it had been used by smokers, although it was supposed to be a non-smoking room.

Thanks for staying at our hotel and for all your feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed our complimentary breakfast and found us to be a good value. But, unfortunately, guests will occasionally decline to honor the no smoking status of their rooms and we try to catch that failure and to deep clean the rooms sufficiently that non-smoking guests are not negatively impacted. I’m sorry we did not sufficiently “cleanse” the rooms. Please visit us again and promise we’ll have a smoke-free room for you.

The room is comfortable with a nice view to the rolling hills. Breakfast passable. Convenient if you need to conduct business on Virginia tech campus.
