My wife and I stayed there with our puppy. 2 miles to 95 and everything was walkable. Friendly neighborhood and very close to the water. We stayed in the Rum Runner's Cabin which was immaculately clean throughout, had nice towels and linens, it was a few steps from the boardwalk to Knox Creek Dock and has an interesting history. We were charmed by the antique rum bottles on the shelves and a "Wanted" poster of a bootlegger. Worth noting in case it's a challenge: the bathtub is a clawfoot tub.
