Experience a sense of sweet seclusion with your group in this spacious cabin while remaining easily accessible to area activities in Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, and Lake Lure. Each location can be accessed within a 20-25 minute drive down beautiful mountain roads. Reach Asheville's breweries, restaurants, and culture with an easy 35-40 minute drive. Hawk Haven offers plenty of room to spread out with 5 bedrooms, as well as a comfortable gathering area in the living room. Take advantage of the fireplace in the winter months and grill out during the summer. Hawk Haven includes a well-appointed kitchen for cooking family meals and a huge deck to take in the expansive mountain views! House Layout: Main Level- Open floor plan for living room, kitchen, and dining area; living room and doors out to upper deck; fully stocked kitchen with island and seating for 3, dishwasher and standard coffee maker; dining table with seating for 6; bedroom with queen and full hall bath; primary bedroom with queen bed and flat-screen TV; private primary bathroom with walk-in shower only; laundry area with washer and dryer. Upper Level- Second primary bedroom with queen bed and private full bath with shower/tub combo. Lower Level- Family room with flat-screen TV; bedroom with queen bed and crib; full hall bath (shower only); bedroom with 2 twin beds; kids playroom; garage accessibility. Outdoors- Upper-level deck with patio furniture and charcoal grill; lower-level patio and outdoor fire pit. The garage is also included in the rental. Please Note: \- All TVs in the home are streaming only via Roku, and you must log in using your own accounts (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc). \- The ice maker and water dispenser on the refrigerator do not work. \- WIFI is now available through a satellite provider. \- While operable, the gas log fireplace is NOT an included amenity. It is very difficult to light, and you must do it yourself if you wish to use it during your stay. Greybeard will NOT send a technician to the home to light it. ​​​​​​​For groups larger than 10, Blue Bear Cabin is within walking distance of Hawk Haven. Greybeard homes are located close to Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles may be seen in our area in the fall and winter months, and it is not uncommon for them to find their way into homes to escape the cooler weather from time to time. They are not poisonous and cannot be exterminated. During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development. From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We wanted to be in the mountains and saw wonderful sights on the deck which is the length of the house.It is a drive of about 30 minutes from town. Be prepared for switchbacks and high incline. We went to Ashville, shops in Black Mountain were excellent. Food añd people were exceptional. Hendersonville for orchards and such more.We went to Pisgah for hikes and waterfalls. Parkway Highlands folk art museums were where we learned and bought presents for ourselves and others.Overall a very diverse and enjoyable experience. Wanted to support this area. The views were amazing and there was more than ample space in the home so none of us felt crowded. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The only negative thing I can say is that you might want to bring your own knives. The knives in the kitchen aren’t very sharp but we did not let it stop us from eating. The drive in to this property was beautiful. There were a few winding roads but nothing too bad. Once you reach the property, you’ll have reached a little slice of heaven. It provided a gorgeous view from the deck and through the numerous French doors. . Drive up was pretty but steep and curvy. Our group was 18+ with 3 couples and two individuals. There was plenty of room to spread out and enough bedrooms to meet our needs. We mainly utilized this home as a resting/sleeping place while we explored the surrounding communities and activities. We did not cook, but the coffee pot works great! Big drawback was seating in the main floor living area. There is one couch, one over sized arm chair and a small rocker. We had to pull chairs from the dinning are for everyone to sit together. There is a tv downstairs and in one of the bedrooms, but not in the main are. We did not miss them. And yet, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about our stay are the last bugs. Hundreds, nay, thousands. I live in south Carolina and understand that lady bugs can be a big issue but it was obvious that this place had not been recently cleaned and required some major pest control due to the PILES of dead and living lady bugs. I counted nearly 50 in the upstairs bathroom. My three year old niece was unperturbed by them and had a blast playing with their little dead bodies despite our best intentions to sweep them up. Despite the lady bug issue, we had a wonderful time in a well appointed home in a beautiful part of the country. ##### Kimberly R.
