"Walking distance from restaurants"
The hotel had lots of character and was easy walking distance from restaurants and a music venue (but not so close that there was any noise). For an older hotel it was in great shape. Lots of free parking, original art on the walls, and friendly staff.

"Overnight stay on the way to the Blue Ridge mtns."
Couple in room next to us had domestic dispute with loud hollering during the night. Concerned about the fact that they took a photo copy of drivers license and credit card even with the room paid in advance. Inquired how long they kept the info and they informed me a year. I am concerned about the security of my info in their hands with all the identity theft of today. Do not feel they need the info on my drivers license that they keep for their records.

"Dog Friendly Hotel!"
We needed a dog friendly hotel for a quick weekend in Asheville, this hotel worked out perfectly! It's about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, 5 minutes from the CUTE village of Black Mountain and 15 minutes or less from good hiking trails. It's conveniently located immediately off highway 40, with a few fast food options right next door. Check in was a little slow but that's out fault. We forgot to mention we would need a dog friendly room in our reservation notes so they needed to move us rooms. Our tv wouldn't work when we initially turned it on. 5 minutes after calling the front desk someone was in our room fixing it for us. Pillows were uncomfortable, but that could be preference. Other than that, no issues. Didn't hear any other dogs during our trip. Room and bathroom were clean. Not noisy. Very basic, nothing fancy, which is what we wanted. Breakfast is a step up from the typical continental breakfast. Eggs, sausage and waffles were among the choices. There is a per dog, per night fee which isn't mentioned on their Expedia page. Very reasonable though. We would stay here again if the dogs are with us.

"Peaceful retreat in beautiful Black Mountain!"
This B & B is historic and lovely, with many unique touches. The innkeeper is very welcoming and goes out of her way to ensure the comfort of her guests. It is a short walk or drive to all kinds of local attractions, yet in a quiet setting.
