PROPERTY: Free Parking | Free Wifi | Free Firewood! The cabin is on an acre lot at 9,000 feet elevation with spectacular views of the mountains of Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The cabin is surrounded by pine trees and a few aspens. Sometimes moose, deer and elk come and visit. You will definitely see birds such as hawks, ravens, woodpeckers and owls to name a few. We have a plant guide for those who want to see what plants grow around here. The hot tub deck was designed for visual privacy from neighbors. Cabin is 1200 square feet plus 500 square feet for the decks. Sustainable features: Organic teas, coffee, spices. Organic sheets and towels. Up-cycled furniture and plates. Non-toxic soaps, shampoos, conditioners and cleaning products. We provide reusable water bottles with artesian well water - good for the body and soul. We recycle. We provide reusable towels to clean up after yourself. The cabin is cleaned with non-toxic cleaning products as much as possible. We want to be as sustainable as possible. The living room has a couch, loves seat, and a TV and high quality bluetooth speaker with a fun collection of DVDs. The space is designed to encourage slowing down and connecting with yourself, your loved ones, and nature. If you need to work, there is good WiFi throughout the cabin, along with a desk in each bedroom. This is a magical retreat place for people who want body and soul rejuvenation. Living room: Sofa, love seat, chairs, coffee table, TV, DVD player, bluetooth speaker, wood-burning stove and FREE firewood. Kitchen: fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, coffee grinder, french press, coffee maker, hot water kettle, quality knives, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, serving platters and bowls, blender, teapot, spices, oil, tea, condiments, and just about everything you need to cook and serve a delicious meal. Dining area: dining table that seats six and spotting telescope. Bedrooms: Each bedroom was consciously designed with a healing plant or tree theme, and is outfitted with luxuriously soft, organic linens, as well as a yoga mat for your use. Master bedroom has a deck connected to it that overlooks the mountains. Bathrooms: The two bathrooms both have a shower and full bath, organic towels and natural body care products. Guest Access: You have access to the whole cabin, front deck, back deck, yard and private hot tub. There are two parking spaces at the top and a 50 feet walk down a sloped driveway to get inside. If it is snowing please park at the top. Third parking spot is in the driveway, and guests MUST back into the driveway so you can get out face forward in the winter. If not, you might get stuck. Other details to Note: Escape to our enchanting vacation rental, nestled in a serene location at 9,000 feet. Weather can be unpredictable at this elevation. Be prepared with layers, weather-proof shoes and Tylenol. There is no AC in the cabin, so please keep the windows open and the fans running! Rest assured, we provide snow plowing for accumulations over 6 inches, ensuring easy access to the cabin. While the occasional snowfall may require some light shoveling, we have a plow and shovel service to assist you if you need more help. Winter is amazing here with our hot tub and cozy wood-burning stove, creating a tranquil, warm atmosphere. Please use these amenities responsibly, keeping in mind that the outdoor area can become slippery when wet. For the safety of our younger guests, the hot tub is not suitable for children under 8, and children under 16 should be supervised by an adult. We have taken extra precautions by providing child safety gates around the fireplace, ensuring the well-being of your loved ones. Nature enthusiasts may encounter wildlife such as moose, bears, or mountain lions on our property. Admire them from a safe distance, and if you encounter them upon arrival, simply remain in your vehicle until they depart. We recommend not leaving food in your car, as bears have been known to break into cars. Please note that we have limited availability for early check-ins or late check-outs due to our dedicated cleaning team managing multiple vacation rentals. Our first clue should have been that we were not given the correct code to unlock the door to gain entry. We soon discovered the disposal did not work, the washing machine would only work on hot water which took a week to fix and there wasn't a screen on the glass sliding door in the dining room. The final blow was the refrigerator and deep freeze went out spoiling all the food. We decided we needed to leave as their repairs were never attended to quickly and we needed a place to keep food from spoiling. The management refused to compensate us for the time remaining on our stay or compensation for lost food. In our early dealing with them which was by text they said VRBO was involved and they would check with them and they refused to accept our phone calls. Finally VRBO told us that they would not make any compensation for our loss. ##### harlon G. The hosts of this Vrbo keep strict rules and do not compromise. We wanted to check in a little earlier than required. This property had a very late checkin time. Long flight and long drive in the mountains, meant we had to find the place close to dark, when its cold out. Host said flat out "No". Asked if we could check out after 11am, host said "No". Host asked us to help with keeping the pipes from freezing by regulating the water and temperatures, which we did. Host sent lots of auto messages reminding us of the various rules we needed to follow. Hosts boast of a peaceful and serene mountain retreat where you can "relax and renew". In reality, there are houses all around and guests are informed to keep quiet, dont make any noise, so the neighbors are not alerted. This was not a relaxing stay. ##### Ari T. The wood burning stove was great and the spa was nice in the snow. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The listing is correct about the driveway. If you don't have a 4WD with good tires and it's snowy and icy, which it was during our stay, you have to park at the top. We didn't have a problem, but anyone with physical limitations or hesitations should not walk down the driveway when it's snowy and icy. There are no hand rails and it would be very difficult unloading or loading your car. Our host was very responsive and communicative. Someone came and shoveled off the whole parking area, driveway, and decks. I would recommend staying at this cabin for relaxation and peacefulness. We really enjoyed the wood stove that had great instructions and well stocked with logs, both inside and outside. The jacuzzi was both clean and warm. Gilpin is truly a gem. We had breakfast right down the street at the last shot both mornings and it was great. Also a quick drive to Boulder Canyon and Boulder Creek. Netherland is also close. The house is located less than 15 minutes from the park and has a gorgeous view of Tremont Mountain from the back deck. I especially enjoyed soaking in the hot tub with a beautiful mountain view after a long day of hiking. Wonderful property manager with prompt responses on little things that made us extra comfy. The cabin was peaceful, clean and the view was breathtaking! We loved the fact that the casinos and good food were only a short drive away. We stopped at a place not far from the cabin called "The last shot" and they had a beautiful dog, Cheeka, who greeted us at the front door. It was also a nice atmosphere and good food.
