A lot of security to check in and go in and out of the building. Pool was clean, two BBQ stations, gym, and lounge. Walking distance to Starbucks, Publix and other restaurants. We were there for the NCAA basketball tournament at Legacy Arena. It was about a 20-25minute walk and gave us chance to stretch our legs and see the city each day. There were restaurants and a Publix nearby as well.ConsI had an email in January confirming our stay and that we would receive check in instructions the day of our stay. 2 days before we were to stay in Birmingham (we are from out of state) I sent the host a message just to confirm our stay and to get some information about checking in.No response. On the day we were to check in, we began our travel so I sent another message. No response. When we were 2 hours away with no information, I contacted VRBO, and they finally were able to connect me with the host to get our check in information. VRBO was very helpful, but the complete lack of communication caused a lot of stress and I was looking for alternative properties while on the road because I didn't know if we had a place to stay or not. \* Shower. The shower dial did not work and we only could get scalding hot water until it ran completely cold. I did not want workers in the apartment, so I didn't contact the host about this until after we checked out, but I have not received any apology or response about this inconvenience.
