I went to B'Ham to visit a sick family member. Decided last minute to stay overnight and this was an option of necessity. It is exactly what it states. No frills, bedroom, bath, mini fridge, microwave. There were alot of longterm residents hanging out obviously participating in illegal activities. But they don't approach or bother you mostly. My biggest source of frustration was the men at the desk trying to hustle me into paying more money. If you have no choice, this place is available. I suggest staying in your room with the door locked and curtains drawn. There's yelling, fighting, and at one point someone was trying to peek in the curtains at me and my guest. Its around alot of food and necessity options. Walmart, etc. The room wasn't exactly nasty but the furniture and amenities were dated and very used. Long story short, if you need a roof over your head in an instant it is acceptable. But if you are planning an extended trip, just pay 50 extra dollars and stay somewhere that doesn't feel like it belongs in a John Singleton movie. Think Boyz N Da Hood.
