Horrible! (Please Read)

My husband and I stayed overnight after traveling to Alabama Splash Adventures. Upon arrival, we noticed that the place looked abandoned. The grass wasn't cut at all and it looked as if it hadn't been maintained in years. Prior to our trip, I made two reservations for a King Sized room. One through the hotel's 800 # and the order through expedia because I never received a confirmation email for the first. The receptionist walked from the food area wearing pajama pants and a head scarf, I thought she was a guest. She informed us that although she had our reservation they only had double beds. The other staff members were gathered at the food area fixing BBQ plates. Given it was the Fourth of July, we overlooked it. The receptionist told us they didn't have change for a $100 bill and she would figure out the price and bring our change and receipt to our room. The room was fair. There was a soda bottle left by the night stand and the shower had a stained coloration. It was loud outside of our room and the kid upstairs popped fireworks all night. I couldn't tell if they were gunshots or fireworks but I assumed it was the latter. Overall don't stay here. If you have the money to stay somewhere else, please do. Unlike me, Trust the reviews. They aren't lying.

Sleeping with one eye open

I have been in several countries and traveled many places in the United States, but when you don't feel safe, you don't sleep well. There was no dead bolt on the door and the lock on the adjoining room door did not work. It was not the worst looking place I've stayed, but I just didn't feel safe.

Didn't know how to check me in. No soap. No shower curtain. Pool black with crud. Three attempts to get a key that woks. No lights in parking lot. No coffee in a m Awful experience.

Terrible stay, even as an on-the-go option.

Staff unaware of how Expedia works, wanting to charge again, room with good look but found bugs on the coaches. Sign in the bathroom suggesting to dispose of condoms properly. Classless.

HORRENDOUS

When we arrive at 8pm, there was not a car in the entire parking lot. There were 2 cars facing each other at the office entry, which was extremely suspicious and we felt VERY uncomfortable and chose to not only go in, but to NOT stay at this MOTEL. There were no lights in the parking lot, and even the sign was not properly lit. There is not a 0 to recommend, or no star at all. Therefore, consider yourself forewarned.

Hotel cancelled my room

This hotel cancelled my hotel room that I booked through Hotels.com. Hotels.com then re-booked me through a nearby hotel and the same rate, so my trip was not affected, but this hotel should honor their bookings.

was not notified until arrival @ knights inn that they closed it did not have a room had to take a room in a motel 6 that the room had a leak and stunk of mildew and mold want the money back will notify credit card co this is outrageous and unacceptable

Stressful

We arrived late, 9:30. Parking lot was empty, parking light we off. One person was standing outside and informed me that there was a sewer backup and no one could stay and that all reservations were canceled. We had no prior notification. Office staff was not empathetic nor compassionate as to our delima. We went else ware.

Nasty

The room was just pure nasty waste of money holes all in covers, sticky Nasty carpet cable tv only get a few channels and toilet was broke i would not recommend this hotel period.

Knights Inn

The whole place is in terrible shape. One whole building is roped off because it had a fire. Looks like it has been in that shape for years. The lounge is closed and the pool is roped off and full of sour smelling water, looks like it has not been touched in years as well. The room was clean however there is no soap and only a couple towels.

NO WI-IN ROOM. NO CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. HAD TO PAY FOR PET. NO HOT WATER. DID NOT SEE ANY OTHER GUESTS. NO TRASH CAN IN ROOM. HAD 5 MINUTES OF HEAT AND 15 MINUTES OF COLD BLOWING AIR AND THEN BACK TO HEAT AND COLD AIR. MANAGER WAS RUDE.

Hotel facilities & amenities in room 144

Only 1 roll of toilet paper about 1/3 was already used. No Kleenex. Only one cup to drink out of for 4 day stay. Advertisement listed continental breakfast. 1st day we got to the lobby at 9:30 a.m., no food and less than a cup of coffee. We were told continental breakfast was from 6 to 9 a.m. 2nd day we were there at 8:30 a.m. no food out and coffee was about all gone again. 3rd day we didn't try. 4th day we checked out at 6:15, still no food One of the beds had nothing but one sheet over the mattress. No laundry bags for dirty clothes.

Hotel was nasty & nerds to be demolishef

It looked like a place prositutes take their johns. The men's room in the lobby had absolutely no privacy at all as when the doors open you can see inside the entire bathroom including urinals.

Overbooked and was told to find somewhere else to stay

Booked hotel a month in advance and got there and there were no rooms available because the hotel had been overbooked. Staff was not helpful in getting another hotel reservation.

It took 45 minutes to check in. The lady that started my check-in left in the middle. I had already paid Expedia, but the hotel staff could not figure out what to charge Expedia. I booked 3 rooms for me and my guests. One room key didn't work because someone was already in the room. When I finally entered my room, I was shocked. The door that joins two rooms was damaged. The door jamb was completely broken off. A chair was jammed under the broken lock to keep it shut. There was no toilet paper in the room. The television did not work. This was the last room, so I was stuck. The next morning I went to the lobby for my complementary breakfast to find it empty. This hotel should be closed and demolished. It would be a great location for a real hotel.

Hidden Structure... Don't look for it

Starting with the fact that the actual structure is mostly hidden from the access road - you have to drive down a dark drive into a depression that houses it. It looked like a deserted, haunted hotel from a low grade horror flick. The receptionist didn't know how to handle a 'reservation' via expedia - had to call her boss. The room she booked me into - had a chirping fire alarm. I went back to the desk to report it - she called maintenance - they said "Unplug it". So yeah - pulled it off the ceiling and left it on their desk. The sheets and bed were sub par. The shower stained with rust. Their was NO INTERNET despite the website claim. Pool was closed. AC was ineffective. Give this a bypass. Or better yet - use it for a horror location.

Not a bad place to stay, but doubt we'll be back. Staff was very nice, no breakfast, only coffee. Had toilet issues as soon as we got there, no wifi anywhere except the lobby and there was an aweful smell outside due to the swampy area next door.

A DUMP "admittedly"

Due to a 'Bama football game, no hotels were available for miles. Except this one. Seems to be in transition from one chain to another. The front-desk attendant was honest enough to say the place was in bad shape, and walked us to our room to ensure that the one we were assigned was one of the better ones. Old bandaids under the bed, unflushed toilet from a previous occupant, and brownish water were enough to ensure we slept with our clothes-on. An ad on TV for the new Bates Hotel series certainly didn't help.

Entire Hotel Needs Construction Overhaul

The hotel manager was just assigned to the unit. He was the saving grace for our stay. His customer service and attitude are what is needed to fix this hotel. The entire complex, no matter where you look, needs construction improvement. There was no sign identifying the property, and everything was in dis-repair. The front desk clerk was confused, the facilities are old, and it will take an overhaul to fix this location.

Buyer Beware- What are your expectations ?

This is a hotel in transition essentially taken over by new ownership, my opinion in March 2013 is going to have differences in a few months, so I would call ahead and ask some questions. It appears they have some good people running it that are going to put in the work, but its also what you pay for (little) is what you get....for 10-15 dollars more you can find something in the hampton inn range... Their current issues- No Wifi avail in the rooms TVs are SD and barely work Ghost town setting I'm basing this on other $65 range hotels. Give them a chance in the time after March 2013 because they are basically rebuilding so all this may be moot, give them a call to check if you come across on this hotel
