It was the lovely waterfront property with a view of Mt. McKinley on a clear day and close to many amenities, including Susitna Brewing and Three Bears. There was a large doc where we could park our jet-skis. There is even enough room to park your own boat. The marina fuel station is right across the bay.Kathy, the property manager, was very kind and easy to communicate with. She was available for questions throughout our entire stay. The kitchen is supplied with all your essentials, and extra bedding and towels were available in the bedroom closets. One thing to note is this property is three stories and has many stairs, including stairs that go down to the dock/water and fire-pit. If you are wheelchair bound or have a hard time using stairs, this may not be the best property for you. This property met all my family’s needs and more. The full width deck and picture windows look out onto beautiful Big Lake. If the clouds aren’t too thick, you’ll see Denali off in the distance.It’s a big house with plenty of room for the six people we had. And everything worked. Communication with Kathi, the owner, was excellent. The downstairs was cold, but there was a space heater. There was a pool table and foosball, which were fun. The water isn’t good to drink, so we had to bring in bottles of water. The road to the house is gravel and dusty.Overall, it was an excellent way to experience Big Lake! The host was on point with communicating with us the whole way. The property is beautiful and we had a nice campfire and used the dock for our rental pontoon.
