The caretaker lives 5 minutes away and will be around taking care of grounds This is a century old Log Cabin. While we made every effort to renovate every part of the structure to make it safe for guests, we took care to preserve and maintain the character. The floors will not be straight and the building might creak. To preserve the character and period specifics, the century old timber beams are left exposed and the hemlock walls are not sanded smooth. They will be rough and handling them might cause splinters. \*\* Please wash your dishes - We do not have a dishwasher. Clean the grill if you use it. Guests please be aware the cleaning team does check the units but the guests before you have washed the dishes and cleaned the grill. Check before use. \*\* It\`s the Catskill Mountains and there is wildlife. Please don\`t place garbage outside unless it is in the trash bins provided. \*\* This cottage is part of \`Valleywood Acres Inn and Cottages\` there will be other guests in the cabins/units on the property \*\* The parking is in front of the cabin and can accomodate 2 cars, possibly a 3rd depending on size. \*\* Fishing is allowed! Please check local licensing rules. \*\* Lady bugs love the houses in Big Indian in the winter, we do everything possible to keep them out but they do try to get in and enjoy the warmth. \*\* Please be aware this is the mountains. There will be bugs and critters. Sometimes deer roam about or the geese and ducks stop by the lake. We love our wildlife and expect that our guests are kind and let them be. If you are really lucky you\`ll see our family of eagles soaring around.
