The lower floor smelled so badly of mold/mildew no one could stay there.The humidifier needs to be emptied every six hours. There were many dead bugs in the lower floor. We had to live in the upper floors and that meant someone had to sleep on the couch. I suspect there was a serious leak and all the moldy carpet needs to be removed. Such a shame. It is a beautiful property and we have always enjoyed our stays in the past. ##### Robin l. Layout of house was great for 3 couples/kids for privacy. Appreciated that there were gates inside and on the porches. Had the best communication with this rental! I never wondered about anything nor did I have to go searching to find any answers for anything I needed. The house is very nice and we enjoyed our stay there. However, I was not pleased with the difficulty of getting through to the host when the dryer would not work. Being that we were there for several days and tried to wash and dry towels (used at pool, beach, kayaking, tubing) was frustrating. Also, I wish I could rate the Big Canoe area itself because it would get a zero. The people working the gates are rude and even when checking in at the pool. Guests who are paying alot of money to stay there are treated like “second class citizens”. Maybe it was just the people I spoke to but they were not friendly and wanted to make sure I knew I was a guest and not a homeowner. I wish I wouldve gotten names but one I do remember is Pat.
