The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Quick weekend trip. Booked this cabin mainly for the dock for our boat and lakefront location. That part didn't disappoint. The views from the deck are amazing. The dock is a little beat up but worked fine. The cove is on the best part of the lake. I knew from the pictures that the cabin was a bit older, but it more than made up for it views and location. Everything was very clean upon arrival, the beds were comfortable, jacuzzi was clean and worked great. The cabin exceeded my expectations. Communication with rental agency was also great. However, it was dusty, dirty and full of spider webs. I’m asthmatic and had several coughing spells from the must and dust. I was glad I didn’t obtain a third day stay there. Unfortunately there were spider webs on the deck it was dirty out on the deck. The furniture outside needed to be wiped down. Also ants everywhere even inside. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location cannot be beat. Access to water is amazing. The actual house is run down and lack luster. The furniture is very worn - when I sat on the main couch upstairs, I fell INTO it - it's like the support is gone or broken for the cushions. The lamps are mostly broken - tilting, can't pull the cord or the whole thing falls off the table. One of the fans was broken, so we had to lean it up against the wall and couldn't put it in the window, which didn't help with cooling the bedroom off. I cleaned the dishwasher filter - it seemed like it hasn't been done ever, or not in a very long time. There are mice behind the hearth at the fireplace upstairs - we saw three of them. Responsiveness by management was great. For the amount we spent to stay here, trash pick-up should be included. You will need to haul out your own garbage at the end of your vacation. Please note there is no air conditioning and there is also no washer and dryer in this "cabin." Our relatives own the property next door, and the proximity to them was perfect for a family trip. We'd love to do it again next year, but honestly don't think we'd want to stay here again. The house itself is tired and needs an update. The kitchen had everything we needed even though there were not matching sets. The beds were comfortable, the furniture was comfortable, and we all had a seat whether eating or sunning on the deck or lounging indoors. The internet worked well, as did the tv/cable. The deck has an awesome view and is in the shade during the hot late afternoon. The new hot tub was a bonus. There are steep stairs getting into the house and getting down to the bedrooms. Lovely neighborhood of beautiful lakefront homes. You can walk from the house to Boulder Bay Park or Castle Rock hike. Away from the busy traffic in town. ##### Karen and Kurt S. Jun 9, 2025 Liked: Check-in, communication, location Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy #### Great Location, Stunning Lake View, but Cabin Needs Serious Updates We stayed at this lakefront cabin in Big Bear Lake for a June 2025 weekend getaway. While the location and lake view were highlights, the property fell short and we wouldn’t return unless it’s significantly improved.The Good: The location is great—close to Big Bear Village’s shops and restaurants—with a beautiful lake view. Waking up to the water and mountains was a treat, and the area was perfect for summer activities like the Alpine Coaster and Boulder Bay Park.The Not-So-Good: The cabin felt small, dark, and very dated—far from the modern look in the photos. The spa was unusable, filled with grimy water and a cover caked in bird droppings. The dock was cluttered, carpeted with torn, dirty material, and lacked the inviting setup neighboring docks had. The dock also had a boat so we were glad we decided to not rent one because there was no safe place to dock it! The lower deck was rundown, covered in dirt and spider webs, and had unsafe loose steps. Inside, a steep stairway at the entrance was tough for older family members. The furniture was worn, with sagging couches and an unpleasant urine smell in the main bedroom. Upstairs was stifling, and the downstairs—while cooler—wasn’t cozy. The “game room” only had a crooked foosball table.Final Thoughts: We loved the lake and the area, but the cabin itself needs serious attention. The photos are misleading, and we recommend confirming recent renovations before booking. Decor lacking- I.e. the sinkhole sofa, multiple remotes for old tv- frustrating (so you read a book). Silverware and plates are mismatched, broken shade in living room, jungle of wires at modem, provided wrong Wi-Fi password. Nose to the wall shower. h Hazardously steep staircase to lower level. Should one fall their head would likely hit the foos ball table. Not close to what I would consider a luxury resort by any means. Bigbearlakefrontcabin, dealt with a rude employee and, many emails - it was most annoying. Hotels are my preferred places next trip. Hospitality app not desired, beside not ready prime time
