The house was beautiful.The driveway is kind of crazy, location was great. Master bedroom on the main floor was beautiful, but the bed was way too high for someone disabled, and I had to sleep in the bottom bunk bed across the hall. We stayed a week. The flooring has some issues soft in some places. We had a power outage because of the thunderstorm and had to use our own our own hotspot, in order to get the TV to work again once the power returned all and all it was good

#### Ok, could use some work

Missing a few items, no oven mits, some of the upkeep was questionable. One of the lights in the bunk bedroom started smoking and got very hot. Access is also off a dirt road, there wasn’t snow when we went, but had there been access for non 4x4 vehicles might be questionable. The upstairs beds were all fine, but both the downstairs ones were hard as a rock and could use being replaced. Other than the few issues we all had a great time and it was a fine place to stay.

#### Beautiful Mountain Home

The home was in a great location. We had a few issues. It took hours to get a response from the management company. I was told yesterday that a manager would call and never heard back. Black flecks came from the water shower faucet in the bathroom downstairs. We could not use that shower. We tried to use the dryer and there several pieces of gummy candy stuck in the dryer. We cleaned it out but it was still sticky and slimy. A large plank board was loose on the outside of the deck. This is a danger to guests and should be fixed.

This property has beautiful views and is peaceful. However, the access road coming off main highway was extremely poor. Also, couldn't get an adjustment on AC and it was extremely warm inside. Uncomfortably so which led to an early exit.

#### Rough and Ready

This property is at the end of a long dirt road that is in rough shape. The property is rough around the edges, but everything was in working order. The steam shower in the main bedroom was great. Hot tub was nice and clean. Set up and check-in was very cumbersome. They required check in at a third party location and would not give anyone in my party a code and wouldn't allow me to add a secondary person to the listing. I had to change my travel plans to get there early. Trash: They also make you take the trash off site 8 miles away. They also sent me about way too many emails to get setup. They need to dial in their paperwork.

#### Wild Burro - close to the slopes.

This property was a long way out of town. There was enough room for a big family. Sadly, the pull out couch was unusable. Thank goodness we brought an air mattress! One bed frame was broken and we had to lay the mattress on the floor. A rung was missing on the stair banister. We had to block it off so our disabled granddaughter would not fall through it. Couldn’t use the pool table. So wobbly!!! Leak in roof in dining room. No hot water in one of the showers. Don’t plan on getting in house around 4 pm! Couldn’t get in til almost 5:30! Furniture old and worn. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it and we won’t be back.

#### Amazing stay

Unbelievable customer service. We were in a pickle with a rental that we had to get out of. Last minute, we were able to book this place for our family Christmas. The accommodations made to ensure we could get in and “save the family Christmas” was really increasingly. Very responsive and accommodating! The house had everything we needed, lots of space and incredible views. Fun for kids and pets. Great views from the jacuzzi. Very clean and welcoming. Thank you for helping us make amazing memories!

#### Much needed family getaway

We needed to get out of town, and my daughter wanted to go to the snow for her birthday. So the whole family went. The 4 of us, my in-laws, brother, sister and her husband all wanted to have a weekend together, and this was a great place to spend quality time. The kids were able to sled down the driveway, so we only had to leave to get food. We enjoyed just being together. The road out there is as described: not paved. There are holes and hills and it is bumpy. The main level is very nice. The kids loved the kid bedrooms. There are not actually any towels with an x on them, so bring your own rags and paper towels. Everything is as pictured. And as described. The lower level is older, so if you’re looking for modern - this isn’t your place. But it was fine for what we needed. Mattress note: the main floor master has a great mattress. My mother-in-law said she’s not slept so well in a long time. The downstairs master mattress is the worst. It creaks and is lumpy and uncomfortable. Also the pillows are really hard or overstuffed - I’m not sure how to describe them - they hold their shape. It all really just depends on how picky of a person you are. This isn’t a hotel - you’re not going to have your nice hand soap and there’s no shampoo or body wash like they say, or paper towels. But if you’re low-key and chill and that stuff doesn’t bother you, then this place is great.

#### Beautiful get away location

Wonderful place to get away from it all. Stunning views, totally peaceful, surrounded by nature (the local donkeys are amazing!), and just picture perfect. The lodge itself is full of "character"! Could definitely do with some TLC, but nothing that spoiled the holiday. MASSIVE shoutout to Judy, the property manager, who put up with a billion texts from us concerning lightbulbs, etc, not working, and who answered all the time with humour and happiness. The ONLY downside (which they know about) was the check in. Awful, and I"m sure they're working on it. But we got an email the day we were driving up telling us to go to their office to check in. (Was left standing outside in the snow for about 15 minutes) then really unhelpful person who refused to check us in - genuinely bad start to the vacation. But again, props to Judy for taking over when she found out and saving the day. All in all, would DEFINITELY recommend for a bunch of families wanting to get away from it. And check directions before you go - we turned up during a snowstorm in the dark, and we were convinced GPS had taken us the wrong way - offroading though what we thought were frozen lakes! Sighed a MASSIVE relief when we turned up. Now to book up our return visit!

#### GREAT CHOICE

My family and our friends had such a fun time here! The view is amazing and the donkeys running around were so cute! Property was clean and welcoming. The pool table did have a small hole in felt but was still fun! Hot tub was amazing! The only downer was it was sometimes hard to go in and out of property because of a private gate so you had to take long way around most times. The property management people were SO nice and accommodating! We even had a medical emergency and they were so flexible with us! I would Definitely come again and recommend to anyone!

#### More of a Ranch Than Lake Vacation

Good space for larger family gatherings. Not being allowed to use the gas fire pit was disappointing, but the hot tub was welcome, especially since lake swimming was not inviting at all. The lake is extremely low and green. The road into the property was nearly not usable unless you have four wheel drive vehicles. We were rescued by a local who allowed us access through the private gate on the navigable dirt road. The wild burros were noisy, but really enjoyable to watch, as were the horses. The setting was away from the busyness of the village, but realitively close to services.

#### Great Cabin, ROUGH location!

Overall a GREAT stay! Cabin was clean and looked exactly as pictured BUT the drive was rough! You have to go off road to the dirt (which was fine) but there were pot holes and dips galore. Would have been nice to have a heads up but other than that great experience, property was super fast with maintenence needs (shower and master door) and the hot tub view at night SPECTACULAR!! Definitely recommend for family or friends getaway.

Overall was good , windows not very clean, sofas in living room need to be replace too old and too dirty specially the arms, no light fixture ceiling of the downstairs bedroom and shower door needs to be replace do not close properly. Kitchen cabinets doors need a very good cleaning to remove old build up of grease.

#### Forgot to mention the washed out unpaved roads to get there.

Google maps will take you to a dirt road with a locked gate on a private road . You can see the home on the hill so you know where it is but you just can’t get there by the instructions on the internet. Called the rental office and they said “Oh yeah Google maps takes you to the locked private road”. Well duh!! . I’m just curious what would have happened had we have gotten there late at night. She was able to direct us back onto another road over to Hwy 38 then took us left right left left again all on washed out dirt roads until we finally got to the bottom of the hill to the home. Another very steep rock dirt road. Finally parked , extremely frustrated but luckily the home and the view was beautiful. A few issues with the cleanliness, but hey it’s a rental. Later we found another dirt road that cut off all the turns they originally told us that took us directly to Hwy 38\. We grew to love the home, the rural valley, Wild Burros even the coyotes. Just be prepared to travel a long way on very uneven, unpaved roads. If you want to get away from the city, enjoy a glass of wine. see the stars and watch the Burros playing this is definitely your Big Bear destination. All in all, we would go back.

#### Surprisingly disappointing

Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay. My family and friends booked this place based on the amenities. The listing states that there is a pool table and the pool table was completely unusable. One pool stick was available and it was broken in half and there were holes in the pockets causing the balls to fall straight through. The cabin was NOT clean, the tabletops were dirty, the game room was extremely dusty. There were towels that had stains on them and while watching tv a rat came running out of one of the rooms. While prepping to cook dinner we found rat poop in the pots and also on the window still. Finding the rat poop in the pots and pans really did it for us. We then had to make sure everything we used was thoroughly clean in hopes of not contaminating our food with rat excrements. We spoke to the owner/manager and they offered 10% off our next visit and late checkout. We took the late check out but I believe more should be done, hopefully we can get some money back. We booked this cabin and it turned out to not have what was advertised and it was extremely disgusting to have to deal with rat feces especially for what we paid. This is unacceptable!
