Best Western Continental Pau
large spacious room with very large bathroom. Good fridge in room. Excellent receptionists. Secure garage parking. Location perfect for city center. One way street system makes it difficult to find but it is on a corner and the garage three doors along. Phone and get the entry code in advance. Hotel decor a bit faded and no air-con.

Good value but hot in summer
The room was very spacious with a Juliet balcony but as we didn’t have air conditioning we needed to open the doors to let in some fresh air. Downside was the noise as quite central. I wouldn’t recommend in summer as just too hot and potentially noisy if you open windows. Car parking very easy and a bonus. Breakfast was good. Bathroom nice and quite good value for money for central location but lack of air conditioning is a definite negative in the summer months.

The room had a broken safe, broken chair, dead batteries in the remote control and a general feel of neglect. However the staff were helpful as much as they could be and very friendly.

Hotels.com screwed up again requesting twin beds while I didn’T, and not informing me that the parking was on reservation. The room was as spartan as they come with very thin towels. Nothing to do with the pictures. Then, it took 45’ to talk with someone at Hotels.com, and 35’ the next day for another reservation. ... FRD UP! POOR SERVICE.

This was probably a grand hotel in its day, and there are remnants of it still in the lovely architecture. It's also dated and a bit musty in places. The staff was warm and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. Great location in Pau center. Our issue with the room - which was large - was the bed sloped toward the center and made it difficult for 2 people. There also wasn't a comfortable chair to sit in in the room. Still, not a bad option.

Old hotel in poor condition
Dingy old hotel, very old carpet, poor wifi, awful view, one bath towel for two people, gave poor directions to hotel, u friendly at check-in. Not pleased.

Great hotel
The hotel was great, the service was impeccable, breakfast was good and varied. They provide parking very close by. The only downside is that the area of the city has traffic changing constangly, which makes driving to and from it a bit complicated for outsiders.

The hotel is nicely located in central Pau. It was the perfect place to rest after the long flight. The rooms are quiet and darken nicely for a good sleet.

Old charm in Central Pau
Really enjoyed staying in this old-school hotel. Super convenient to the heart of Pau. Our room was huge by French Standards, the front desk was helpful, parking was convient. Breakfast was included in our plan and the buffet was very good

Amazing old building which has been well renovated. Everything about our stay was excellent and the price unbelievably low! Pau is a lovely place in a dramatic setting and with lots of eating possibilities.

Very Good Hotel for an Interesting Pyrenees Visit
Pau is a very interesting city with a remarkable history and great sites to visit, as well as a vibrant restaurant scene, with high quality establishments as well as the standard touristy places. The hotel is a refurbished traditional in-town hotel with an obviously elegant history, and terrific facade. Our room was on the top floor, and perhaps because it was a holiday with not too many other guests, we had a very large room with spectacular views over the Avenue Marechal Foch, the key boulevard. The staff was attentive and helpful, and we enjoyed being so close to the Chateau and town center so access to may great restaurants was easy (despite the holiday closings). The only drawback is the difficulty getting to the hotel via our GPS, as many of the streets are one way and while we could see the hotel we had to find ways around the Entree Interdite signs to figure out how to reach it (GPS kept sending us around in circles a block or so away from the hotel itself. Having visited a few other provincial cities this trip, we did not have high expectations for PAU, but were delighted to find it was a great destination and the Best Western an ideal location to see it.

A true delight in Pau
The hotel is very conveniently located, with walking distance to all major tourist attractions. Room is spacious, well appointed. Bed is very comfortable. Buffet breakfast is not huge, but food quality was excellent. The scrambled egg and the fruit jams, especially the three citrus marmalade was delicious. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. A true delight in Pau
