"Great hotel overlooking the sea"
The hotel was beautiful as was the setting. Rooms were very large as were the balconies. We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful place. My wife and I had our 10 year old son with us. He had a temporary bed which was lovely and comfortable. Food in the hotel restaurants was of a very high standard but a bit expensive. The Italian was outstanding. The beach was wonderful with soft pink coral sand and warm seas. We had an outstanding experience and would gladly go back any time.

"Amazing Place!"
We loved the Newstead! The view from our balcony was beautiful and the grounds were lovely. Our suite was so comfortable and spacious with a full kitchen. We ordered food from the Zanzibar restaurant and it was very good. We used the complimentary ferry to Hamilton every day. The only thing missing was a convenience store which would have been helpful. We would definitely recommend this resort!

"Beautiful beaches!"
Pros and cons to every vacation! Bermuda is BEAUTIFUL, SAFE, AND CLEAN! You can't go wrong with the scenery. Our cab driver from the airport to the hotel was RUDE! Told me I needed to think before I asked questions and when I inquired which beach we just passed he said I didn't need to know since I wouldn't remember. Everyone else we encountered was nice and seemed proud of their island. When checking into the hotel they didn't orient us at all. The hotel is nice but lacks atmosphere. Their is no music at the pools or entertainment any where. Bermuda is the most EXPENSIVE island I have EVER been too. A simple lunch of burgers for 4 and 2 drinks=$265.00. Ouch. It was beautiful and glad I went but probably wouldn't go back due to cost. Cruising their would perhaps be a more affordable way to visit Bermuda because it was beautiful!

Hotel right on the beach with amazing views, excellent friendly staff, entire hotel needs some updating.... Old carpets, old furniture, old fixtures. This place was probably awesome 20 years ago, and the crowd who comes here looks like they're regulars who've been coming for that amount of time. Overall it was a wonderful trip on a beautiful island, would have enjoyed it that much more if the resort was updated!

"Great location!"
My husband and I honeymooned here 2 weeks ago. We absolutely loved Bermuda and I would give Grotto Bay 4/5 stars. Pros: Our bed was VERY comfortable! Great location - easy to get to anywhere on the island either via public transportation or scooter All Inclusive was definitely worth it! You have to purchase the all-inclusive package for a minimum of 3 nights but it includes all food, drink, transportation passes (including ferries), snorkel equipment (which you can take off the resort), paddle boards, sailboats, kayaks, etc. Staff was very friendly and housekeeping always kept our room neat. The beach area for the resort is great for lounging and relaxing, as is the pool. Right down the road (walking distance) from a scooter rental place and 2 of the island's biggest attractions - Swizzle Inn and Bailey's Ice Cream. Cons: We would have liked more entertainment and/or night activities hosted by the resort. This was the one area I would say they were lacking in. Lots of stairs to get to places within the resort (not a con for us, but could be for those who are less mobile) Our room didn't have the best view, despite them saying they upgraded us... No free hotel shuttle to and from the airport - would have been a nice added feature

"Nice resort on the water."
Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great view of the ocean from our suite. Breakfast and dinner were done very well at Cambridge Beaches. We especially likes Breezes for dinner. The resort provides a complimentary shuttle to the Naval dockyard several times a day, from there you can catch a ferry to Hamilton or St. George.

"Sound of the waves at my door"
I enjoyed this tremendously. I was skeptical of the reviews about the decor. It's only some old bedspreads and curtains but they are clean. It didn't matter when you open the sliding door to the most beautiful setting on the beach and the sounds of the crashing waves. I could see the Parrot fish swimming in the rocks from my balcony. I found peace and wondered where on the island you could get the same for the price. I'm so glad I wasn't on a harbor-too stiffling.
