You have to drag your luggage up a few steps to get into the hotel. But who cares? This is a very nice hotel in an excellent location near everything you want to see and do. The breakfast is terrific with a huge selection. But what really made our stay is the service we received. Warm and friendly, every staff member made us feel welcome. The space breakfast hall is the former stock exchange of Norway and is quite a lovely spot. Room was clean, with all we needed, and the hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is within walking distance of all the big sights of Bergen. The hotel had a charm about it rather than the cookie cutter mould. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was large and was quaint, everything worked, a vase of real roses was an added personal touch. The lighting at the far side was poor and needs improvement.
