Very clean and comfortable room. Front desk staff were friendly and fast at check in and check out. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. Be aware that the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the nearest bus stop, and with the current construction on the roads in between, this walk is over uneven terrain that will be challenging with heavy bags. So, highly recommended but caveat emptor if you're not arriving by car.

Great pool and breakfast, with awesome facilities. On the edge of Bologna so easy to get to places outside of the city and free parking. Awesome place for families and a get away.

Great overnighter after a day in Bologna and before flying out the next morning. Great to have a swimming pool to let the kids cool off. Excellent breakfast.

Awesome hotel on the edge of Bologna.
Awesome hotel on the edge of Bologna. Beautiful rooms, really nicely appointed. Lots of parking on site. Great restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The only nit was that the pool was closed for maintenance during our stay. We'd deliberately looked for a pool before booking. :-(

We had 2 rooms 4 people. The air conditioning did not work in one of the rooms. Someone came the first night to look and said he would come back he did not. We went to buy a fan ourselves. Next afternoon after repeatedly trying to get them to fix the AC they finally did. We also had a toilet that was rocking of the wall. Staff at the front were amazing and very friendly.

Love it every time
I have been visiting this hotel since 2010 every year at least 3 or 4 times in a year. It is not a fancy or anything like 5 stars..but it has its own character which love. People who works at the hotel are so nice, breakfast, internet, room, location is just for me. In an average year I stay over 300 nights in hotels that around the world, Bologna Novotel Fiera is my favorite by far. Thank you guys..

Easy location for car traveling. Hotel is a children friendly however, rooms/bathrooms (although appropriate size for 4*) feel a bit rundown. Overall hotel has an industrious feel.

Great location Bed bounced up via springs to make it easier to change the bedding?? Bathroom had not been used for a while and it smelled rather bad but we ran the shower for 5 minutes ( in both rooms) and the smell went away.

Property is remote and not near to bus stops or stations. Plenty of parking and good access to main roads and motorway. Bad points Accessibility to transport will cost time and money. Good facilities but a few things need attention. Carepets in the rooms are marked and need cleaning/changing. A USB charging point/s are an absolute must these days. Safes are difficult to lock/unlock by swiping a bank card!! No British news channels!! Even though SKY and BBC are readily available via satellite..and free! Good points, Beds, towels are good, comfortable and clean Minibar present BUT no snacks or alcohol! Bath/ shower and bidet Staff are great, helpful and pleasant..every one of them Late checkout available. Outdoor pool from mid June and Clifton’s play area

Hotel was good although rather warm as the air conditioning was not on (May) perfect for or business at Bologna Fiera but as we stayed on to enjoy Bologna the position means a £10 to £12 taxi into the city or a 20 minute walk to a bus.

An excellent choice for us because of its lovely outdoor pool and general Novotel standards of comfort and cleanliness. Big positive was the personal service of the front desk staff including, when asked what time was check out, the male receptionist basically inviting us to leave when we liked. Amazing service which makes all the difference. Disappointing was breakfast. Poor selection and a finish at 9am which, in reality, was more like 8.45am as they started taking food away and rudely refusing to restock supplies. Such a shame because this let's the hotel down and is not up to usual Novotel standards! Area is out of the city and unattractive but as long as you know that it is perfectly fine. Simple taxi ride into the heart of amazing Bologna.

Its fine. Convenient to motorway and easy parking if you have car. Nothing around if you dont have a car. Coffee at breakfast was awful awful. Everything else very good

Lovely hotel, inconvenient location
Helpful staff, nice breakfast, good restaurant, excellent room (clean, quiet, nicely air conditioned) comfy kingsize double bed. Pool only open June to Sept. Nearest bus stop is Sirenella, 15 minutes walk through park, ok during daytime but we avoided at night. Bus stop outside hotel is for FICO bus to Eataly world and not usable with city bus tickets. Taxi from airport was 15 Euros and to from Bolonga was 10-15 Euros depending on traffic.

Avoid at all costs
A truly terrible hotel set in a remote location next to a motorway and industrial estate. The swimming pool was closed and looked like a swamp, the shower leaked water all over the floor and the air conditioning didn’t work despite it being 27 degrees. The hotel is 1.5km from the nearest bus route and if you ask the reception to call a cab they start charging from the moment they are called so expect the meter to start on €8 when you get in. Probably the worst hotel I’ve stayed in for 10 years. Truly awful. Avoid at all costs.

Great stay, really helpful happy staff. No swimming pool availablabity. This was really disappointing for my 8 year old. The pool doesn’t open until the end of May. No mention of this on the website. I wouldn’t have stayed if I had known that.

Convenient location, comfortable and clean
Had a 1 nt stay after a concert at the unipol arena, which was only c.15 min drive away. The hotel is next to the tangenziale (ring road) Fiera junction and less than 10min from the airport so very easy to find in the car. Desk staff were friendly and efficient. Everything about the room, the restaurant and the hotel was functional, professional, clean and comfortable albeit lacking in character which you'd expect for this kid of hotel. Had lunch in the hotel restaurant, the food was good and of suitable quality for the money. I'd happily stay or eat here again.

Some good features, but some issues too.
We stayed here in association with a conference being held here. The staff was friendly and generally helpful especially as they let us check in early on the day we arrived after our overseas flight. The room was large and with nice, modern furniture, the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. However, the location of the hotel is not great, as there is very little to do in the immediate area, and it is a 15 minute walk to the nearest bus stop to get into the Bologna City Center. That walk requires you to go under an overpass which has no sidewalk, so you are in the narrow berm. In addition, you walk past an area that seems to be used by prostitutes as a pick up point. There were no problems as a result of this, but then we were not walking past it in the evenings except for once. The other major problem we had was that the room was too warm, even with the temperature control set to 5 degC. It is supposed to be A/C, but we asked that it be checked and it was no better. The windows did not open, so the room was warmer at night than we like and there was no way to fix it.

Comfortable cosy BUT far from city centre .
Came with family of four with two children and their grand parents. Hotel was excellent and comfortable with good hotel amenities but without a car was far from city centre with no local shops/ eateries and nearby poor public transport links . Had to rely hence on expensive taxis to get to and from the city centre and furthermore for party of six, six seater/ large taxis were impossible to get!

Overall, adequate.....
The hotel was adequate for our needs and the room was clean. There were a couple of small irritations, e.g. Paper cups for making a tea or coffee in your room, asking for an iron I was advised to use the 'ironing room'......this was a storage cupboard filled with a jumble of items! The most disappointing was breakfast, it was very basic and I had to wait 15 minutes for some scrambled egg to be made......I didn't bother having it on my second day. Drinks from the bar were very expensive. On a positive note, the pool was pleasant, but not for serious swimming.

Nice hotel with pool
Hotel is approx 50 minutes walk from centre of Bologna or on average approx 10 euros by taxis. The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was the usual continental with very nice coffee. Our son and daughter travelled with us and their room on the same floor had a coffee machine which ours didn't and they were provided with hair conditioner and body cream as well as the usual shampoo and body wash which we didn't get. The seal on the shower door was missing in parts and the floor got very wet. The room had a kettle with tea and coffee however we had to continually ask for these to be replenished when used. The double bed in our room was probably the worst hotel bed I have slept in, very poor mattress and noisey springs!
