Orchid Suites HAS NO ASSOCIATION with the Orchids ii knew. So i blame myself for choosing this hotel. This is a small 2 star type of property. They have a dining area on a terrace They have room service that shuts down after 9:30 pm Their WiFi is dodgy to say the least The Entertainment in the Room is a Dish TV System that does not have popular DIGITAL Channels functional Response from the Reception is good but only after you remind ... once more ... the only thing GOOD was a clean room & a working AC (but NO TOILET ROLL in the Loo) all in all IF I WAS STRANDED and did'nt have no where to go ... i would barely stay here. The property is older, but the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is a nice local option every morning and the best is the open air roof terrace to enjoy the mornings. It's located fairly close to the activities of MG road and the price is close to a third of other business-oriented hotels. The hotel is older and just a little worn around the edges. That said, the location is great (a short walk from MG road) and the price can't be beat. But there are two reasons i'll be going back. First is a quaint rooftop where breakfast (included) gives you a relaxed open view of the city. Second is the service. It's small enough for staff to remember you and after a couple days they knew my morning routine and had my eggs and coffee ready without even asking. Location is great and my hotel room was pretty clean and well-furnished considering the reasonable price. Complimentary breakfast was pretty decent as well (mostly South Indian food). Hotel staff kept out of the way but got good housekeeping done when I was out. Minor gripe for me was that a basket of items (snacks, chips, protein bars etc.) was provided in room during check-in which seemed complimentary (no tag attached to indicate otherwise), but was actually not (I was charged the price of the snacks during check-out). Also, the beds were a little hard for us. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable. Quite large rooms. Did not have breakfast so cannot comment. I note they are opening a new restaurant very soon.
