We booked the hotel for 1 night and when we arrived the customer service representative at the front desk informed us they are not registered with Expedia and they do not have a booking for us even though I pre-paid on Expedia. Expedia informed me that it is a non-refundable booking. Where did my money go? Expedia is now looking into the issue. The hotel name has changed and the phone number has also changed...even the color of the building is different now. We ended up booking a night through the front desk since there was space available and we were already there, this room cost us twice the amount advertised on Expedia. The room is not well maintained and niether was the pool. There was no fridge in the room and there was mouse or lizzard poop on our bed. The room and bathroom also had a smell. They did provide us with clean towels and a fresh set of sheets when we asked. The restaurant food was good and affordable. He is no longer employed here. On going to the room to say I was disappointed is an understatement, the room is large but dull and shabby, it stunk of smoke , there were no towels or toilet roll, my partner had to go down and get them. The kettle in the room does not switch of so has to be watched, no cups, there is a cupboard in the room with a hanging rail but not what I would call a wardrobe. The curtain pole was hanging down and the lining on the curtains are stained. The fridge was small. This hotel is also very noisy, sounds travel around the building as there is nothing to buffer it. A good point is that the staff are great and very helpful and friendly. The towels and linen are changed every day but again ithe linen is shabby and could do with being renewed. The rooms are large with a great shower, real mattress, fridge, tv , ac and fan. They could do with a lick of paint and a nicer pair of curtains but windows, floors etc are nice. The beach is a 10 minute walk away or a 50 rupee rickshaw ride. The pool is a real bonus and the restaurant is very good. The only thing i can moan about were the other guests having no consideration for other people staying there mostly the Indians. The beds are very comfortable, nice clean pool, bed linen changed daily, a little more attention could have been taken on the cleaning of the rooms(bleach, toilet etc) but for Indian standards not bad. Staff very friendly and food in The Blue Lagoon restaraunt was excellent! Therefore, during rainy days we had nothing to do, can't go out and also can't use the swimming pool. We realised that we would need a restful, relaxing week after completing such a hectic schedule. Realising this we booked well in advance and paid the maximum price for a deluxe room ensuring a comfortable stay. We sent an email a week before leaving the UK to confirm our requirements. On arrival we were allocated a room which was as far from a "deluxe room" as you could get. It was a small and pokey place with hardly enough room for our luggage never mind us. We explained to the staff that we knew what the standard of their deluxe rooms should be and where they should be situated as we had stayed at the hotel in a deluxe room two years before. No amount of arguing or complaining would persuade them to move us to the correct room. They insisted that this room was up to their deluxe standard which it certainly wasn't. We had to accept what they said as we had paid in advance and we were too tired to move anywhere else. Chatting to regular guests at the hotel confirmed our suspicions that we were indeed installed in one of the cheaper rooms. They added that all the deluxe rooms were pre-booked and reserved for regular guests and for customers of a Russian tour company. We left feeling angry and cheated and worse, feeling stupid that we had even listened to their explanations. Yeah..... We have awesome experience of GOA, none of us want to return back. Though I wish I could have stayed in North Goa as it is closer to most of the places of tourist interest. Zum Strand läuft man ca. 10 Min. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, mit Balkon und Aircondition. Ein Pool ist auch vorhanden. Das Hotel hat ein Restaurant, wo man auch preiswert essen kann. Abends muß man dabei allerdings ca. 1 Std. Wartezeit einplanen. In der Nähe gibt es aber auch Alternativen. Alles in allem ein guten Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Stay-wise very disappointing ,No room service .Restaurant attached not a part of the hotel and bills have to be settled immediately by cash ( No credit card ) and so be ready to keep/arrange funds for restaurant,car hire etc, Kept complaining that we had misplaced a remote for TV. We had 3 rooms and looks like in one they had not kept one. Same with blankets - available in 1 room not in the others . The one available was torn. Had to pay Rs1000 because the management claimed that we damaged some towels with stains from a tatoo , The part that hurt was that they were refusing to let have the keys till we paid. Inspite of all the above we must admire the hotel for the honesty since they honestly returned a hand bag with fair amount of money.credit cards etc which was forgotten when we checked out.
