There was ample seating and activity space for the full family, and the warf is directly across the street to provide easy access to the waterfront and Saturday morning farmers market. Sunsets from the front patio and yard are spectacular! We we're also able to have the perfect view of the full moon from the outdoor seating area.The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to cook a meal for a large family gathering, and seating was ample around the dining table thanks to the size and the bench. The host goes the extra mile to provide everything you may need. It’s the perfect house for large families and we loved the extra touches for younger children. Everyone enjoyed taking turns in the small sunroom - reading, drawing, or napping. There is a chair for everyone around the fire pit and spectacular sunsets. There seemed to be a misunderstanding when I tried to reach the owner by phone but once we got to messaging, all went very well. Loved the market on Saturday and on Sunday. It was right across the street from our house, so very handy. There’s a lovely trail right behind the market (across the street) and the pebbly beach across the street was peaceful and provided lovely stones and sea glass. The adults enjoyed the spiffy Keurig machine with built in milk frother. The house is very comfortable. Loved the two chaise longue, especially the one in the sun room. The house itself accommodated 4 families very comfortably and every little detail was meticulously thought through - host Madison & Jody have clearly put their heart & soul into this place which honours the local Acadian traditions. The property overlooks the ocean which allowed us to take our time and walk on it at low tide. It is located in a quiet community but close to spectacular scenery and beaches such as Smugglers Cove and Mavilette beach where the kids swam and became master beachcombers finding large never before seen sea shells. This place provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of more popular getaways. In truth, we thought the Brier Island Lighthouse easily rivalled that of Peggy’s Cove - and we had it all to ourselves. The place feels like it’s off the beaten path yet still very accessible as it is only 25 min drive from Digby ferry. We all highly recommend this place. Any one looking to catch up with family & friends away from the blare of conventional tourist swells, where the only distraction is a stunning sunset and tidal movements that leave you awestruck, cannot go wrong with the Cove House.
