Prepaid for a room with Expedia. Arrived at 6:10 pm NYE 2025\. Just crashing there for the night while my gal and I attend a NYE party nearby. Had Uber scheduled to pick me up at 6:25\. Began checking in. The clerk was disheveled and, shall we say, not pleasant. Gave him my ID and my Chase CC. He looked at both of them for a very long time with a magnifying glass. He could not make out the 3-digit code on my CC. He accused me of rubbing it off. He asked me to tell him what it was. I was hesitant to do that and offered to pay cash for the room deposit and incidentals. He told me I was the only person in the history of the universe to refuse to say my 3-digit CC code. He said he knew I was trouble. He refused to sign me in. This clerk tried his best to ruin our NYE. In shock we left, went across the street and checked in without incident. Thanks for nothing Bellingham Lodge. We found a bag full of vomit, 2 beers and a bunch of tinfoil under the bed.
