The speed is around 10MBs/second, which is fine for Netflix, WhatsApp calls, internet browsing etc. It is recommended that guests use their Netflix on standard definition rather than high definition as it will take satellite wifi longer to buffer the movie and eats up 2.5GBs rather than 1GB for standard. Also, satellite is not so great for videoconferences as there is a delay on the two way interaction. Next year, satellite wifi speeds will pick up to between 10-25MBs/second. SPECIAL NOTES Outside the Cottage there is an outdoor wooden patio facing the river complete with a gas BBQ. A dock suitable for launching canoes and kayaks. Although the cottage does have wifi it can be spotty, so be prepared to unplug and unwind. A variety of maintained nature trails exist throughout the old growth forest for guests to enjoy. One of these passes near a Bald Eagle platform that was built at the top of a 70' white pine tree and which continues to hopefully await tenants. For those wishing to book in spring or fall, make sure that your car has underneath as the driveway and it can be quite bumpy. We also recommend arriving at the property before dark as it's a long unlit drive into the property. 4/5 Good

Pretty and quiet
Large, pretty and isolated cottage, close enough to other interests in PEC. Property had deer, wild turkeys, frogs, chipmunks +++, ducks and more. It was a comfortable stay.

5/5 Excellent

We saw 5 swans and 5 turkeys
Overall, a nice and quiet place in the natural to relax. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

5/5 Excellent

Very nice and calm
We had a great time. Retired house yet close to everything. A swan family was nesting right across the river.

3/5 Okay

Black River cottage
Overall it was a good experience however when communicating with the owner and property manager response was slow at best and sometimes not at all. Although internet was not a deciding factor on our stay, the password and username were never provided. Emails to the owner were made regarding this issue and we were directed to the email provider telus to rectify this concern. As I am not a customer of Telus I did not make this phone call that is why I reached out to the owner. Upon leaving my wife tripped over your loose cinder block step in the front almost broke her toe and rip the nail off of her big toe. We are part of a wedding next weekend and this will hinder our ability to participate. Regards, Marc Lambert

4/5 Good

150 acres to relax yourself
Overall the experience was great, we could enjoy 6 days with our 6 years old daughter and two dogs. Easy walking around the property where the dogs and kid enjoyed running without leash! Owner/estate agent in charge always nice and available for our questions. Regarding views from the house, we were expecting more for a views to a river. Negative points, maybe cleaningless (stains in carpet and sofas, ...) and TV advertised in booklet and welcome package with satelite when there was not. Possibilities of trail right to the escarpment, but unfortunately it was not groomed. Few and old cutlery provided in the kitchen. Anyway, we loved Prince Edward County and the sunset in Sandbanks Provincial Park!
