The accommodation spreads over two floors and is surrounded by a fenced garden featuring a beautiful gazebo with a dining table. The entrance, on the ground floor, opens onto the living area, consisting of a living room with a sofa, an armchair, a TV and a dining table, and a fully-equipped kitchen with an oven, a dishwasher, a kettle, a juicer, a coffee machine and a toaster. The ground floor is completed by a home studio, a bathroom with shower and a pantry room with a washing machine. Upstairs, guests can find the sleeping area, including four bedrooms: two have a queen-size bed each and also a balcony overlooking the lake, one has a single bed and the fouth one has two twin beds. Two bathrooms with a bathtub complete the layout. At guests' disposal amenities such as iron, wi-fi, heating and air conditioning. \*In the area where the accommodation is located there are no taxis or public transport available for short local transport. It is therefore advisable to reach the destination by car. Cot and high chair available upon request, at an extra cost of 35€ per stay, per item. \*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. Lake Como offers some of the most striking urban, landscape and architectural gems of the entire Italian peninsula. Among these treasures stands Bellagio, "The pearl of the Lario", a village of just over 3000 inhabitants on the northern end of the Larian Triangle, in which the two branches of the Lake are divided. Among the most fascinating aspects of this village there are undoubtedly its charming villas, famous all over the world for their splendor and their manicured gardens. To mention some of them, Villa Melzi boasts many works of art and 18 km of paths in its garden, and Villa Serbelloni, today a conference center of the Rockefeller Foundation, features a wonderful garden as well. The old town, with its numerous shops located along narrow streets with steps, passages and arcades, is renowned all over the world and attracts thousands of tourists every year. The territory of Bellagio is vast and varied, you can visit the different lake hamlets such as Borgo di Bellagio, Loppia, San Giovanni and Pescallo, up to the top of Monte San Primo, reachable with a dense network of paths and itineraries for lovers of trekking and nature. Finally, Bellagio is well connected by boat to nearby villages such as Varenna, Lenno, Bellano, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Como. It was very hard to get to without a car. It required a treacherous walk up streets with no sidewalk or soft shoulder or navigating 120 cobblestone steps. It took us 10 minutes to figure out the keys. There was absolutely no human interaction with the management and they did not answer my call for assistance. The furniture is very Spartan. There is only 1 shower, the downstairs toilet does not work properly, and the worst part is that you are required to haul your trash to the Ferry stop upon check out (over 1 mile away). Our group consisted of three couples, all of whom are owners of holiday homes on the ocean in the Caribbean. We regularly rent out our own properties, and we would never consider presenting them to guests in the condition in which this property was offered to us.Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the villa was not as advertised. The outdoor areas were neglected: the grass was uncut, shrubs were overgrown, and the concrete areas were mossy and in need of thorough cleaning. The “view” promised in your listing simply did not exist.More concerning was the interior. On entering, we were met with a strong musty odor that instantly triggered my asthma. A single night in that villa would have placed me in the hospital. The toilet on the first floor was not working. This made the property not only unpleasant, but uninhabitable for health and safety reasons.After a long day of traveling, we were in no condition to endure such surroundings. There was nothing you could have reasonably done in the short time of our stay to remedy the multiple issues. For these reasons, we had no choice but to vacate the villa. You can walk to town but there are sections of the road that doesn’t have side walks. There is only one actual shower with two others having hand held shower heads.
