I had a terrible experience in this hotel as it never happened to me before. I stayed 2 nights in this place with my partner & daughter in January as no other hotels were opened in the area at this period unfortunately. As the heating was not working properly and we were freezing, we decided to use the blankets in the closet. Big mistake that shouldn't have happened! After the 2d night i started to have red scratchy buttons appearing all over my body. I went to the doctor / pharmacists when back home and they confirmed it was bed bugs....imagine the panic to live the risk to have bring them back home... I was so scared that i've trashed all the clothes i had during the week end. After having informed the hotel via email they never replied to me. No even a SORRY. This hotel on top of being dirty is really disrespectful toward guests which is unacceptable as a professional!

The best location, but could be more comfortable
Stayed in this hotel many times over 20 years nice people, best location but hotel gets more "tired" every year. Beds are hard, and need more and much better pillows. Rooms need serious refurbishment. Breakfast is substantial but not the best quality.

Great location, very good service of the staff, but the hotel is too old, should have been renovated years ago. Facilities and linen/towels are relatively poor, and should be clean and sanitize, especially during COVID time…

Room #1. The door does not lock properly. Do not open the bathroom window. It wont shut. You will then call maitenance. A man will walk in call you children then proceed to slam the door shut. In the meantime the shower door will be knocked off the hinges. While you take a shower the door will fall to the ground. this is a low budget hotel.. It is conveniently locked next to the dock... but man is service sub par.

We thought it was great value for what we paid. Location was great, staff was friendly, breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a quad room that for the money was ok. I refurb is needed, but then again the room would be more expensive, so overall it was fine for our needs and budget.

The receptionist spoke to me initially but when she found out my friend was italian she immediately turned and spoke to her completely blanking me, which was quite rude as i was the guest not my friend.

Very good value hotel in Stresa.
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Primavera. The room was more than adequate; breafast very good. Close to many good restaurants and within easy walking distance to the railroad station for trips into Milan. The biggest problem is parking but the staff were helpful in getting it sorted out. If I'm ever again in Stresa I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a long weekend in Stresa. Hotel was fresh and tidy with parking available at sister hotel a 5 min walk away. Perfect base especially for dinner at Pappagallo!!!

Great value and highly recommended
Our family of four had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay in a quadruple room. Hotel amenities were clean and well maintained. Very well situated by the main shops and restaurants, also conveniently close to the ferry terminal and airport bus stop. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the good traditional breakfast and restaurant next door. We loved our stay in beautiful Stresa!

An Autumn Break
Very comfortable stay, excellent breakfast with wide choice of food. In a very central position in Stresa, all amenities at hand. Would certainly return to this hotel again. All the staff very pleasant and helpful.

Room was smaller than expected having paud extra.. Fridge wasn't very cold. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Very good position near lake and town centre. Handy for the train station. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

At the receptionist, I was told that air condition has broken in our room and there is full of water. They send us in the new hotel, 300m far. In this City hotel, the lady was NOT kind, nervous. She was acting, like we were on her way.Wanted to check-in, she said, that we will not stay in this hotel, but in the apartment, another 200m away... Appartment was OK, breakfast OK. Next day after check-out another lady unkind...Just the staff needs to realized that the customer service is the key. Would never meet her again.

Wouldn't recommend. Mgmt was not service oriented.
Upon arrival, the mgmt was unfriendly. No help with baggage, restaurant recommendations, etc. We stayed in the quad room. The mgmt would not turn on the air conditioning. It was hot and my daughter was getting sick because of the heat and I had to repeatedly put cold wash cloths on her head to cool her down. The location was ok, but after spending time in Stresa, I would definitely not stay at this hotel as there were many other beautiful hotels that were affordable with better accommodations.

Very well situated but there are (or were) a few niggles The Breakfasts were a little disappointing and spoilt due to the lack of toast making facilities. Also , the 'Orange juice' was weak and resembled diluted squash! Although cold, hard boiled eggs were served-up, it took me two days to locate the appropriate covered dish which was not marked clearly. No fried, poached or scrambled eggs were available and there was no cooked Bacon or hot, baked beans often, preferred by British visitors. The room was quite comfortable and generally OK but the 'Safe' for Passports & Euro currency, was totally insecure as it had no lock !......Apparently all the removeable lock mechanisms had been stolen in the past! I also had to ask for some salt for my hard-boiled egg but this was not dry and refused to flow freely !

Great location.
Great location, right downtown. Ok breakfast. Great coffee! Very nice and helpful staff. Room was comfortable on 1st floor, but a lot of noise (and late!) from the street due to street seating of local restaurants.

Little jewel in Stresa
This is an older hotel, so we expect that it has some issues with the condition of the space. However, it is our choice every time we visit Stresa because of the wonderful staff and the amazing location. The price is great, with breakfast included and a 15 percent discount on dinners in their restaurant

Great location
Room 434 is at the top of the hotel but you can't hear any street noise apart from the early morning bottle collecting, typical of most Italian towns. The room has a good balcony with two chairs and a table and a lovely view of the lake and mountains past the houses. The king bed was comfortable and you can leave the balcony door open at night for a breeze and to admit the fragrant aromas wafting in from all the beautiful flowers nearby. The hotel is a block from the ferry terminal and the alibus which brings you from Malpensa. Breakfast is served in the dining room and is a buffet of cereals, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, good bread and rolls, cheese and hams, and lots of typical Italian cakes. Also there are boiled eggs and juice and they'll make you delicious hot chocolate or all types of coffee. Alberto and Simone were very helpful on reception, even taking the cork out of the wine and storing the beer because the fridge didn't work. They said they were getting new fridges. Reasonably priced, great location, clean, and with lots of restaurants nearby. A day touring the islands is a must. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Location excellent for getting to know Stresa and very near ferry terminal which made getting about the lake easy. Friendly hotel with small but pleasant rooms. Good value for money.

Nice small hotel behind church.
The hotel is immediatly behind the magnificent old church on the lake side road. You will have to park and walk to the hotel as the hotel is in the narrow lanes off the lake side road. There is also a bus stop opposite the church for those taking the airport bus. Everything in Stresa is a short walk from this hotel which is right amongst the tourist shops, restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was a buffet with fresh breads and rolls, cakes, cold meats, cheese, fruit salad, cerials, yogurt, boiled eggs and mini quiche. The staff in the hotel were friendly and very helpful. They all seemed to be multi lingual. I would certainly consider staying there again.

Nice & cosy stay for a short weekend break
Staff is really nice, rooms are a bit smaller and basic but provides all what you need, you enjoy the things rather outside :-) that is why you are in maggiore right ;), I spent just a weekend and it provided us good night sleep with a good breakfast - all you need, juices, italian cofee is a must ofcourse, yogurt, mussli, sweets and breads. Again the best part of this hotel is the staff, from reception to welcome you even in the late evening, to the staff serving you breakfast.

Super comfy hotel, right next to everything
The hotel was great. Its a short walk to the train station, across the street from the lake and central in town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They all spoke english. My room's balcony didnt have the greatest view of the lake but it still had a decent view. Room was clean and comfortable. I was alone, and saw many other guests genuinely happy. I really don't understand how anyone can have anything too bad to say about this hotel. Highly recommended. Thank you for your hospitality.

Convenient for Lake.
The rooms were basic and ok. Had balcony with view of lake and church bell (which fortunately was silent at night until 8 am. Bath rooms very dates. We could here every word our son said who was in the next room. Didn't matter as it was him, but would have if some one else. Hotel does not have a bar and restaurant as advertised, unless you count one in a sister hotel about 10 minute walk away. Breakfast very basic and worst of 17 hotels we stayed in on our tour of the Italian lakes. Hotel very conveniently situated for lake and restaurants. Enjoyed Stressa.

One of our top hotel stays...
We stayed six days in November 2015. The staff were excellent and friendly, the breakfast extensive and open until 10.30am. The rooms had satellite television and tea/coffee making facilities. We wouldn't hesitate to return. The only issue was that Isole Bella gardens and palace were closed for winter. But a fabulous stay overall.
