The Ship Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Recenty refurbished to a high standard, especially for what is basically a nice pub. Or room had a balcony, although no view, and air conditioning. The ensuite was very good, with a walk-in shower. The breakfast was good value and very nice, especially the full English. Staff were all very helpful and polite, particularly Alex. The location is excellent with loads of pubs and restaurants just over the railway line. We managed to park outside throughout our stay, but there are also several car parks close by."

"Clean spacious flat although it's on a very busy main road. We booked it because of the garden but it was unusable because it was totally overgrown so nowhere to sit or stand. Another point I would like to make is that for safety we think there should be a hand rail on the stairs as they are quite steep and there is nothing to hold on to. Location is central to going places in the area."

"Lovely home but bring earplugs as it is very noisy at night and early morning. The location is superb with so many bars and restaurants to visit. There is no welcome pack so finding out how everything works takes longer but the facilities are amazing in the house. Dishwasher and washing machine. Coffee maker etc. there are some small coffee sachets but you need to bring washing up products as none provided and only one dishwasher tablet so bring what you need. The kitchen and bathroom are beautiful and the small balcony with table and chairs off the second bedroom give a nice sea view behind the boatyard The top twin room is accessed by a split staircase which is steep. Not suitable for those with mobility issues . Also I would suggest bringing a small extension lead so you can see the mirror when you plug in the provided hairdryer. Lovely home. Well worth a visit. We were thrilled with our stay Parking can be found at the station. Special rates for weekend stays and free parking if you have a blue badge and register with them Flat path walk from there to the house. Takes about 15-20 minutes (for old people😂)"
