Good rooms - issues with service

Located in downtown Beijing Good access to restaurants and supermarkets. Good if you want to experience local things... not for a ‘spoilt’ tourist. The room is big, more like a studio apartment. Very comfortable. The staff don’t speak English and used a translation app. Someone entered my room at my absence and touched my valet and credit cards - nothing was stolen, but had to call my bank in the UK to cancel them... the hotel staff showed emphaty but did nothing about it. The room was cleaned every day, but not to a high standard. Breakfast is unmemorable but very cheap.

5/5 Excellent

This is an amazing hotel in an amazing location with amazing staff. They were, by far, some of the most helpful and friendly people we met in Beijing. The room was large, fancy and even had a private balcony, too bad it was so cold when we were there.

In an excellent neighborhood with the hutongs. Also conveniently located within 10 minute walking distance of subway. Hotel desk did not speak any English (which seems more the norm in China) and also some of the sheets were stained. Still, this was a solid establishment.

Excellent facility within walking distance to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. There is a great street filled with restaurants and shops across the road and a short walk down an alley. It is easy to miss this area unless you know this! We had several good meals along this stretch including the traditional Peking Duck. Don't be afraid to peek in some doorways to find excellent dining! The hotel staff are extremely accommodating and if you are lucky, you will meet the adoreable Jinny - the resident cat! The rooms face onto an outdoor courtyard. Bed is very comfortable and toiletries provided were extensive and smelled heavenly. Breakfast is served in the dining rooms but are open to the courtyard as well. Bring your sweater in cooler weather. There are two options for breakfast - one western and one Asian. Both are good and substantial. Staff will make you a decent cappuccino for an additional 28¥. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!
