This is not a five star hotel
The hotel is quite outdates. Carpet is dirty, has garbage left on the floor for 4 days. Room safe doesn't work, no heat for the first few days.

Nice higher end hotel in Beijing
Check in was smooth, they required a damage deposit which they actually charged through then refunded during check out. WIFI was free but it waz very spotty and many sites like Facebook and instagram were blocked perhaps by the country? I was surprised when I entered the room, it was very spacious and bright. Nice glass desk and work station. King size bed was very comfortable. Kettle and instant coffee and tea. 2 complementary bottled water was a nice touch. Bathroom was also very spacious and nice, separate large tub and shower. The shower have a rain shower head and a spray head, the rain shower doesn't work very well with the tight shower space and the spray head although adjustable was a little awkward to use. Housekeeping service was very good. Check out was smooth. A bit on the pricey side, but will probably stay here again because of the location was convenient for my visiting purpose.

Nice place, but some staff don't speak english.
Nice staff, but they don't speak english so well, but they always trying to be helpful. We had breakfast (which was not included in the room price), however on checkout they forgot to charge us the price. We tried to tell them that we had had breakfast, but they just told us we were done with the checkout... So we left for the airport. Thus after we left, we got a call and had to transfer the money to them via Wechat...

The temperature of air-con is a bit hot inside the guest room and it is hard to tune it down.

Do not stay here if you don't speak Chinese!
DO NOT stay at this hotel if you are a Westerner or if you don't speak Chinese. The English language skills of the entire staff is entirely inadequate, and you will not be able to accomplish anything without a lot of difficulty and wasted time. The rooms are very nice and the overall conditions are great. The breakfast is a bit disorienting but plentiful. The dinner buffet is excellent and well priced. But the lack of English speaking staff disqualifies this hotel for anyone who is not a Chinese speaker. Also they say "airport shuttle". But this translates into "We will call a taxi for you to go to the airport." Every interaction with staff was aggravating and time consuming. Not their fault, they just don't speak English. If you are a Westerner, spend the extra money to stay at a business class hotel where they speak English and can take care of your needs promptly.

The stay was ok but not worth the money staff hardly speak any English I had to change the room twice Air conditioning is not working the room is boiling no one seems to know how to reduce the temperature wifi is very bad Will never stay in again

Good Hotel - SLOOOOOOW Internet
The hotel is ok - BUT the SLOWEST INTERNET CONNECTION EVER. And it is not because of the China Firewall - the cafe just below had so much better connection!

Great times
it was a great hotel the only downside and i think this goes everywhere in Beijing they need to speak a little more english it was very hard to communicate. Recommend a translator AP before going there.

Very Comfortable Stay
This location was great for my company due to its location in regards to where we were working. The most convenient factor about the hotel is that there is literally a subway stop located just in front of the hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful. There are also many good restaurants within walking distance. The beds and down pillows were also very comfortable unlike many other reviews I read regarding most beds in China.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the rooms were big, and clean the staff was friendl and courteous. I especially loved the Bar( atmosphere) and the Buffet was rather enjoyable because of the variety of food available.A lady named Candy who worked in the Bar was very sweet and helpful to me, she went out of her way to assist me, and was one of the very few that could speak and understand most of what I was saying.

Decent proximity to West Railway station -
Stayed here one night because the west railway station is 15-20 taxi ride away. Hotel is not the entire building as it shows in the street view photo but service and rooms were modern and clean. Surrounding area seemed to have nothing nearby and the hotel restaurant and cafe were high priced.

A less than average Metropark Hotel
This is a less expensive and less luxurious Metropark as compared with the Metropark hotels I stayed in other Chinese cities. Comfortable and spacious room but with visible dirty spots on the carpet. Comfortable bed as with other Metropark hotels and clean bathroom. I liked the daily fruit plate. Overall, a good deal for the price (~$125/night) at a central Beijing location next to a subway station.

inexpensive option for a short business trip
I used hotel for a short budget stay on business. The room was made available early (4 hrs before check in time) however, was not cleaned well. Dust on the floor, toilet was not even flushed. I had to call reception for room service. The room was noisy due to construction works nearby and main road below. Personnel at the reception barely spoke english, but could understand basic requests.

A short break
We stayed for four nights. Hotel staffs were friendly with high efficiency. However, we did feel the cleaners weren't well trained or Supervisors didn't inspect the rooms regularly. It's the first hotel we've stayed without face towels being provided. This is a good hotel chain and do hope they keep up the 5 star standard we experience in HK.

We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were a little stingy with the replacement of toilet paper though. We had fresh apples delivered daily and fresh water. Overall a really nice stay, and a cheap cab ride to anywhere.

Pretty average, bad location
This place was advertised as a five star and I don't think it comes close. The hallways and rooms are nice, but there was no 24 room service as advertised, the spa was closed, and the breakfast buffet cost a lot and was not included. There are much better deals to be had. Plus there was nothing nearby at all save the subway station. I wont stay here again

Outside metro station - lines 2 and 6.
Reasonable hotel of 4.5 star quality in a boring part of Beijing. Staff are friendly and speak English. Hotel supplies maps of the area but some of the metro stations have since been renamed so quite a confusing first day!

Dear guest, Thank you for your stay at the Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing and the feed-back you gave us. Hotel sets in the same complex with Meilanfang Grand Theatre and is steps away from Chegongzhuang Subway interchange station (Line 2 and 6). It is surrounded by Xizhimen, Beijing Zoo, Beihai Park and Houhai Bar area. It takes about 20 minutes by car to the Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. The airport shuttle bus is available every 30 minutes. All rooms are luxuriously decorated，with free internet access. A hearty international buffet spreads are served at Victoria Café, while Chinese dishes and hotpot are available at Prince Restaurant and Cuisine Hot Pot Master. Alternatively, guests can spend a relaxing afternoon at Metropolitan Bar, enjoying coffee and refreshing beverages. We hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back.

My stay there was nice...the hotel bed and the 4 pillows are very comfortable.they have all what you need in the room..the room is spacious and it has big bathroom with separate shower and bathtub which I like..the only problem is just language..only few staffs can speak english well so yeah a bit troublesome..but overall my stay was quite awesome

Overall could not ask for much more.
Clean, quiet, not too hard to find. Would be nice if they had a pool but close in comfort to a much more expensive hotel. If I can get another special rate I would deff stay here again. English speaking staff would make it a bit better for westerners staying here.

Not a five star
I stayed at this hotel many times and found it the best value for the comfort and location. I had one issue this time: the bathroom has strong drainage smell - the kind you smell in poorly drained neighborhoods of Beijing. Being a physicist, I tried to find the source of the bad smell. I think it may be due to the lack of a U-section under the toilet for the particular room I was staying.

Absolute Worst
This was the absolute worst hotel ever. Every amenity they advertise was a fake. There was no AC, it was central AC and they kept it up so it is hot in every room to save electricity. The rooms are dirty, we tried to change rooms and was told all rooms are full by the receptionist. After raising hell the manager said there are a few rooms available and it was the same, all like a heat box. The staff are obviously trained to lie to customers and not there to serve. The outlets in the rooms are sporadic with electricity, it will take days to full charge a phone. The exercise room is under construction, the foot massage is construction, front of the hotel and the side is under construction (As of 9/14/2011). Dont be fooled by the pictures and other reviews. Pass this one and save your self the trouble.

Soft beds and near the the subway
Metropark hotel is great place to stay. The location are good and bad. The neighborhood isen't that nice in itself but it is very close to the subway. The room (executive room) was big with soft beds and it didn't smell smoke as it does on many hotels in China. Recommended!

The hotel was clean, comfortable and the Subway is right on the corner. The rates were also very reasonable. Not all the staff spoke English well, but they were very courteous and helpful and found someone who could. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Hotel has spacious rooms
This hotel has spacious rooms and is off the main street, so the rooms are quiet. Not many of the staff can speak English, so be prepared if you do not speak Chinese. The resturant and room service are very limited and expensive, and they seem to turn the AC off at night.

Perfect location, clean & comfy rooms
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased. Hotel is right next to one of the ring line subway stops so it was easy to get around the city. Rooms were clean and well-decorated. Beds, linens, towels, etc. were very clean. Beds were uber-comfortable. Bottled water provided without additional charge. Good value for the price paid. We will happily stay here again if we are in Beijing. The staff had some difficulty understanding and communicating to us in English, but this was a relatively minor point.

not too close to city center
grand metropark is right on the 2nd ring rd of beijing city. it is about 20-30mins away from the center, but still accessible via subway station, there are few nearby restaurants near the hotel so if you are not availing of breakfast the hotel offers, you better take it as it is very difficult to find a nice restaurant near the hotel. aside from location, everything is perfect, the staff is courteous and we had a very relaxing stay. everything was taken cared of. this is a new hotel (2008) so when taking the taxi, some drivers don't know the hotel or not familiar with it, you just tell them to drop you off at "mei lan fang da ju yuan" the theater house adjacent to the hotel. or else some taxi drivers won't recognize the name of the hotel.

Hotel in Peking
The hotel location is rather convenient; It is just around the corner of the hotel next to the Peking grand opera theatre. ( THE DIRECTION TO THE HOTEL BY HOTELS.COM WAS VERY VAGUE AND UNPRECISE) we kinda got lost trying to find the hotel as it was hidden from the main road when in actual it was literally quite close to the subway. Beware as soon as you leave the stations entrance it is around the corner!. Overall a reat hotel.... We will return again. .

Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing
My 12 year old daughter and I spent two nights in the Metropark Hotel in Beijing on our way back to Canada from Australia. The service was awesome, very helpful, the concierge helped arrange a last minute tour to the Great Wall. The buffet was exceptional, my daughter really enjoyed the chocolate fountain! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

wonderful surprise for a world traveler
From the moment of check in to check out and return check-in 3 days later was one of my greatest travel experience I have ever experienced. I am 67 years old and have seen many guest facilities, but this made me feel important and truly welcomed.

The hotel is either new or recently renovated. The room is spacious and nicely furnished, and truly non-smoking. Bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is clean but shows some wear and tear already. Staffs are friendly and competent. Price is very reasonable. Location is both good and bad. Good because it is right next to the subway station so it's super convenient to go almost anywhere in the city (traffic in Beijing is horrible). Bad because it's in the financial district and there is nothing interesting within walking distance.

Very good hotel
Enjoyed our stay very much. Clean, spacious rooms and nice staff, location very close to subway, which (almost) makes up for the hotel being a little further out. Only the hotel menu and breakfast are very expensive, so chose to eat out most of the time. Also, there was construction going on on the street and we had to use ear plugs the first couple of nights. Apart from these things, would definitely stay again.

Hotel location was not in the heart of downtown but was right beside a major subway line which made it extremely convenient getting everywhere. Concierge staff spoke english very well, and was extremely helpful when booking private guides or giving directions.
