I'll never stay there again. It was very run down and dirty. Should be a $29 hotel

Well this trip was for a family members funeral. Our four hour trip took us seven hours because of road construction so we were no the happiest when we got to Port Author so with that being said. We had a little trouble finding the hotel entrance. ON entering the hotel the first thing I smell is cigarette smoke so I thought ok maybe someone who stays here just came in from outside that had smoked a cigarette. OK when I entered the lobby the girl at the front desk had her feet propped up on the desk (hmmmm). Not putting anyone down the girl who checked us in could not understand me very well and I could not understand her English very well either. After she gave me our room keys propped her feet back up on the desk and continued with what ever she was doing when I entered (wow). We stayed on the third floor the cigarette smoke was still there and got stronger later in the evening. In all honesty I think it was the employees smoking in the building because one time waiting on the elevator a young man I believed worked for the hotel came from around the corner with socked feet no shoes carrying a green storage container in one hand and a cigarette that was not lit at the time but had been smoked on in the other hand. As far as the room well this is why I travel with my own pillows, blankets, towels and Lysol. I could go on and on.....but will not stay at this hotel again when coming to visit.

Staff was rude, shower handle was broken, roach infestation. Hotel lost brand naming, its no longer the quality inn, signs are blacked out

Great disappointment!

Pros: The location was only 10 minutes from our daughter's home. The price was right.. but next time we will spend a bit more to have better accommodations!
Cons: FIX IT UP!! Paint, lights, check appliances, etc.
Not enough towels - ever, bathroom not cleaned regularly, no shampoo or conditioner, one TINY bar of soap for 3 people, breakfast food was terrible (eggs dry, sausage hard & dried out, biscuits as hard as rocks!). In the evening you could smell the food the staff was apparently cooking for themselves. The smell of curry and other spices was so bad we had to put on the air conditioning even though it was 40 outside! The general condition of the building was one of disrepair - or minimum repairs to make do. The refrigerator did not get cold even when turned up to the coldest temperature. Phone did not work! No dial tone! No TV station guide. No iron.

THE NAME OF THE HOTEL IS THE QUALITY INN, NOT THE QUILITY! That should have been my first clue. The hotel is used primarily for housing transient refinery workers, and they have left the rooms smelling of oil, sweat and smoke. I will only stay at top-end hotels in Port Arthur from here on out.
