À propos de cet hébergement

2 Bed in Beaumaris (oc-wai206)

  • This charming stone cottage, which still bears the datestone of 1816, sleeps four guests and is ideally placed to explore the attractions of this lovely corner of Anglesey. Beaumaris is a captivating seaside town with a fascinating mixture of buildings, from Victorian to medieval. Take a stroll through the streets and admire the picturesque cottages, often painted in soft colours. There are many independent shops, excellent restaurants and lively cafes where you can stop for refreshments before heading for the seafront. This lovely walk takes in the pier and wonderful views across the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia. From here, catch a boat to Puffin Island or look out for wildlife on a seacoast safari. Visit historic Beaumaris Castle, a designated United Nations World Heritage site, and discover why this massive edifice is classed as an unfinished masterpiece. Also well worth seeing is the impressive 12th-century Penmon Priory (4.5 miles) and the huge dovecote nearby, which dates back to 1600.

Steps from the road lead to the semi-detached cottage, which is all on one level. An entrance hall opens to the living room, full of light from the two-period sash windows. There are two leather sofas where you can take it easy in front of the Smart TV and cosy, flame effect gas fire. A fine antique Welsh dresser displaying beautiful contemporary Portmeirion pottery and prints by a local artist add extra interest to this welcoming room. The spacious kitchen has a cream colour theme, with sleek units and attractive dining and chairs in the same shade. From here, a door leads to a small sunroom with large fun bean bags to use either inside or out. Both bedrooms are stylishly furnished, with Hypnos mattresses to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. The king-size bedroom has a lovely view of the pretty church opposite from its sash window, while a twin bedroom with a TV overlooks the rear garden. A spacious bathroom provides a bath, large shower cubicle and WC. There is also a cloakroom with a WC,

To the front of the cottage is a small lawn. To the rear, a large courtyard garden enclosed by stone walls has a mixture of grass and paving, making it an ideal place for children to play. There is sturdy garden furniture.

Quiet retreat in beautiful location

Hen Ysgol is perfectly situated in a quiet lane of Beaumaris, just a step away from the town centre with all its shops and restaurants. The house is equipped with everything you need and renovated to a high standard. We especially enjoyed the backyard which is a real suntrap, where you can enjoy your dinner in the sunset. There are also a lot of maps and guides, which give you lots of inspiration for walks and trips in he area. Carol and Trefor are lovely hosts. If you have any question or problem, they will support you.

Fantastic property and location.

Beautiful house in a great location. The property has everything you need and is very well presented with a modern style. The village of beaumaris is on the doorstep and has a good range shops and places to eat. The owners have catered for every need and we found the maps, walk books, games and dvds came in very useful. The rear garden was great but the weather prevented us from making full use. It would be superb in summer. The owner's provided lots of advice on the village and offered more if required. The house has all the instructions for its appliances so easy to use. It was very clean and comfortable with a very thoughtful welcome pack. We would certainly return.
