The cottage is ideally located for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Mapperton Wildlands is a pioneering rewilding project, where wildlife thrives in 1,500 acres of unspoiled landscapes. Guests can arrange guided tours to learn about the rewilding efforts and spot deer, birds, and other native species.  
  
For those who prefer to explore independently, wonderful walking trails begin outside the cottage door, meandering through rolling hills, ancient woodlands, and wildflower meadows. A highlight of your stay is complimentary access to Mapperton Gardens during the open season. These award-winning gardens are often described as one of the finest in England, featuring formal terraces, vibrant borders, and peaceful ponds set against a Jacobean manor house.
