"Ibis hotels are pretty much all the same. Spare, clean, social area. This is within a few minutes walk to the Festspielhaus, the Hbf, and a short walk to tourist Bayreuth. Air-conditioning which many Bayreuth hotels lack. At other hotels people are dependent on cabs or busses to get to and from hotels to the Festspielhaus which can be very slow and expensive as the cabs are metered and sit in traffic after the opera."

"The hotel has plenty of nice amenities, and the front desk is very helpful (especially in answering questions about the area and in getting a ride to the airport set up). The best part may be the location--right near the Marktplatz (with plenty of shopping/dining nearby). You are within a couple minutes walking distance from major sites like the Margravial Opera House and the Richard Wagner home. If you are in Bayreuth for the Wagner festival, it's about a 30 minute walk to the Festspielhaus....

"Hotel is used for a lot of conferences, and bus tours, so is big, and has lots of rooms. Having said that, the facilities are all fine and well maintained, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel was ecellent too. Only minor issue is that its a bit of a walk to the town centre (15-20 mins), but there isn't a lot to see or do there anyway, so no big deal. Parking is easy and straightforward"

"We loved the location of the Hocher Hotel. Checkin is 1:00 and since it is an automated machine it is helpful to wait to arrive at this time or after and checkin would be easy. It is such a wonderful city to visit, sightsee, have incredible German food, walk around and enjoy! The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The owner Mike is a very gracious host of this small hotel. It was nice at breakfast as you are able to visit with the other guests. Mike is so kind to help if you need anything. Would...

"Room requires greater cleanliness - for example there was much dust upon the top of the cupboard and which should be wiped down. The hotel is conveniently situated in Bayreuth but the accompanying map to its location should be more explicit. The breakfast is good."
