This hotel had a real thing for its 'elegance members only' spots. So much area was designated to it, between the pools and the beach. During a weekday I was able to sit with some friends in the members only section ( a member I was not) but come Friday I was kicked out to my side of the beach. As it turns out the non member side of the beach had wait staff bringing me drinks every 15 minutes. The food was really good, price was ok, people friendly and things to do. I wish I would have taken more time to go see local shops
The resort is beautiful and the staff is beyond friendly. The shows they put on at night are fabulous and even the games they play by the pool and on the beach are fun. The sports bar to the beach bar yo the swim up bar and every other bar in between are great. The only drawback was the food it was only okay that's the only thing I would change.
The Bavaro was nice and had access to all the Palladium facilities, which is probably 10 acres. The a la carte restaurants were good and so was the buffet. They are renovating the Palace and some restaurants. All the staff was friendly and all problems were resolved quickly. (We just had an ac leak that was minor)
Our room was a short walk to the beach, the pool and the breakfast/lunch buffets, which worked out great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and kept clean each day by the staff. We would highly recommend the resort.
The pools were very nice and the drinks and food was generally very good. Bad points, the beach was very eroded and essentially unusable due to a 4 foot drop off between the beach chairs and the ocean waves, they were putting sand bags around the beach but i do not know how they can replace the sand that was lost to the sea. They would close resturants for wedding parties without advance notice to regular customers. The pool would close at 6 pm so there was very little to do after supper if you did not go the show.
From the moment we walked in until the moment we checked out staff was super. The room/suite was just perfect in every way. Did not want to go out, thats how spacious and comfortable it was. Compared to the higher priced hotels I stayed on this vacation, this was much better. Cant find any faults and highly recommend this hotel.
We had a great time. The staff was wonderful. Evelyn, Bladimir, and Alfonso at the Gabi were awesome. They took great care of us. They kept us well hydrated with daiquiris at the pool, and even helped arrange having fish we caught while deep sea fishing cooked for us for dinner that night.
On the eastern side of the Dominican Republic, the town of Bavaro was originally settled by those working in the nearby resorts on the beach. The town quickly became a center of services and also boasts 10 miles of seashore. Hundreds of hotels, as well as shopping centers, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and medical services, can be found here.
