Ruben Beras was operating the restaurant/bar on the day of our stay. He did an outstanding job as our server and bartender. We both remarked about what an outstanding ambassador he was for the hotel. He really made us feel welcome. Congratulations on having such a terrific person on the hotel staff!

Arrived at the hotel and was greeted with a Majectic drink which was very nice. It only took a few minutes to check in. A little language barrier with check in. The room was big and spacious as well as very clean. There are lots of activities and the staff is very friendly. If you have a weak stomach, be careful not over eat and drink as there are plenty of food and drinks available all the time. Hector and Jose helped with our recursion and shopping. Love them. Had an awesome time.
We were with 3 other couples and tried thru the hotel by email and even had Expedia try to see if we could have rooms in the same building or at least close and when we got there found it had not been done. One of the couples were already there and they did get us closer but the area is so large we were really not very close. Our tv did not work upon arrival and neither did the refridgerator. They also had to reset air conditioning as it was very cold on arrival. We also did not have any hot water for the shower for the first couple of days.
My husband and I went for our 5th year anniversary and it was lovely. Lots of options for you to eat, among having the buffet restaurants they had I believe over 5 restaurants that were really good too. The bartenders were really nice and friendly and so was the staff. Everyone was always in a happy and good mood. My husband booked us the Privileged suite so we got some nice amenities with that too. Overall, if I were to come back I would come back to this hotel. It's also children friendly which was nice to see since I have two kids of my own and I would want to being them here. Beach was very pretty, lots of seating every where but would get full sometimes because everyone wanted to be at the beach and why would you not? One semi minor thing was sometimes house keeping would take a while to get to our room but overall amazing experience!
great location. first time we didnt stay ocean front and it didnt bother me. 2 baconys on rooms facing poolside or gardens.there are ocean front rooms.but didnt see on expedia at time of booking. pools, grounds and activities were all great. best trip we took yet
Fantastic staff and accommodations. Very clean. Staff were extremely attentive and never felt like we had to "look" for staff. Always had beach/pool chairs available and didn't feel like we had to "save" spots. Food was excellent, far exceeded expectations.

We had a very smooth booking experience with Expedia and received a confirmation email from Chateau Del Mar soon after. We arranged hotel transfers a few days prior to arriving. Our condo was a 2 bedroom with air conditioning in the bedrooms. The property was beautiful(pool/bar, main office right by the entrance). Manuel and Freddy were present through our stay and very helpful arranging taxi and making reservations. We hung out by the pool one day and we even got treated to fresh coconut!! Apparently nearly all the rooms were booked in the property yet it never felt busy to us! It was never too loud for us. You can hear some music from the resorts nearby but again for us we never had any problems at night etc.
The location is phenomenal! literally outside the property is the beach. Seapro diving company is across the street and then on the beach is a devine restaurant, Conoa. They have beach chairs that we laid in nearly every day we were in DR. The food is really good too! There is a plaza that contains atleast 4-5 restaurants including a bakery (Dalias) that has great coffee and pastries. They also have 2 grocery stores that sell an assortment of daily supplies. We always felt safe walking around even at night. Our room was great and bedrooms were cool. We had to turn on the fan in the living room and kitchen.
On the eastern side of the Dominican Republic, the town of Bavaro was originally settled by those working in the nearby resorts on the beach. The town quickly became a center of services and also boasts 10 miles of seashore. Hundreds of hotels, as well as shopping centers, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and medical services, can be found here.
