    We have stayed at the Hilton Bath several times over the past years & have always been more than happy to return. This year, however, we were very disappointed with our two night stay overall. The reception staff were excellent as always - helpful, polite & friendly & gave a really warm welcome. Unfortunately, unbeknown to us when making our reservation the hotel was undergoing some significant renovation work both outside & inside. We were awoken by workman outside at 7.30 & the coffee/bistro area was closed due to refurbishment. There was no hint of a reduction in price to compensate!The new bar area was dark & unwelcoming which was a shame as this was always a lovely area to sit & relax over a coffee or a drink after a long day sightseeing, etc. The range of drinks available was very limited & sadly, the barman was more interested in chatting to his Italian mate than actually serving. I thought it was a little poor that he asked us if we wanted glasses for the two soft drinks we ordered. We were also more than a little surprised that in order to access wifi in our room we were expected to pay for this as an added extra. All in all, as I have already stated, we were really disappointed that our favourite place to stay in Bath was not really value for money this time.

    Breakfast ok. Had to ask for water in room (stated in room description). Also should have had seating area in room which we didn’t (only realised at midnight had booked this type of room) No bar as is being refurbished. Good central location

    There was nothing unique about the property other than it's original history as displayed at the entrance to the hotel and currently it is quite disappointing as building work is taking place and creating an awful lot of noise in bedrooms nearer the work. Our room was right next door to the actual building work taking place which took place from 7:30am to 7pm most days. We asked if we could move to somewhere quieter and the hotel did find us a room immediately.

    The room was ok the staff answered questions when asked but not as friendly as we would hope for. Breakfast was good. The smell of the hotel was awlful,we had to open windows when we got in the room was a real musty smell. The carpark arrangements was not good as to carry your bags from the carpark then walk up stairs or through the shops were not good . If there was another way to get into the hotel we were not told.
