One of Baška's symbols, and a key element in its landscape, it is 1,800 metres (1.1\. mi) long and faces a crystal-clear sea. Since 1999 it has been the proud recipieng of the European Blue Flag award, which testifies to its high-quality standards. THE MULTICELLULAR SHEEPFOLDSNumerous hiking and cycling trails pass by multicellular sheepfolds, which are dry-walled structures employed to sort out and count sheep. These sheepfolds are a fundamental example of folk architecture and may be found in just two other locations in Europe, namely Wales (UK) and Iceland. THE BATOMALJ SHRINEThe Church of Our Lady of Gorica, one of the oldest Marian shrines in Croatia, may be reached either via the Educational Trail, or by driving along a tarmacked road, or else by climbing a 237-step staircase.
