I had booked a specific room type to use time to study and prepare. It was a refinished room and listed as premium. Upon entry of my room I found the patio door lock broken. I spoke with the receptionist on duty and was give a room of lesser value without the same amenity that I intended to use. I was told there was no other rooms available. Following that conversation I went online and was able to see that equal value rooms of which I booked were still available. This made my mind very alert to all deficiencies in the room. Epoxy on the toilet seat, worn furniture and missed vacuumed spots. I assume the facial wash bar was intended to be use as regular hand soap, as there was non other available.

The service was great, cleanliness was less than average with there being something all over our ceiling , the hinge on the fridge door was broken so it hung down , outside when we first pulled in the pot light was dangling from the roof and there were people loitering around the building. From about 12am - 4:00am there was yelling and a child crying constantly in the hallway keeping myself, my husband and my kids awake. Lastly , we went for a swim and the pool was very cold and not super enjoyable. Overall not a terrible but not a great experience.

It was supposed to be a “premium” room. It seemed standard to us. On the morning we were leaving, we found a bug crawling on one of the suitcases, which was up on the bed. We think it was a bedbug. Thankfully, none of us had bites.

Easy to navigate close to all amenities. Quiet location great staff at front desk. downside the beds are quite soft and not too comfortable. Definitely need an upgrade. I would stay here again.

The property is dated. I also had and an adjoining room door that had finger prints all over it and the bench pulled part way in front of it which I thought was weird. The lock wasn’t pushed all the way down in that door either and it made me uncomfortable as a woman travelling alone. There was also an incredibly heavy sent of chemical air freshener in the lobby as well as my room. My room had a gross stain in the middle of the ceiling as well. The area is very industrial and I was disappointed that the rating was so high when I selected this location as it was not an “8” in my opinion. Front desk staff - very friendly.

Front desk agent wasn’t very friendly and only one of the ladies dealing with breakfast was kind. We had two guests with food allergies and the one he lady seems so annoyed to check an ingredient where the other was super helpful and sweet and had the bread ready for my daughter when we came down the next day. Pool was small and freezing, no bedding for the pullout bed had to ask housekeeping who gave us a hard time even getting bedding for the bed.

When we got there we were given key cards and when we went to the room, we walked in and it was someone else room. They had given us cards keyed to someone’s else’s room! Our actual room was dirty, mirrors not cleaned and floor not vacuumed. It smelled like smoke even though it was “non smoking”. A horrible experience and a waste of money.

The pool was down for "maintenance". This was not communciates at the time of booking, checking in or on their website. I was travelling with my children for a funeral. We drove 5 hours one way to get to Barrie. I specifically booked this hotel because it had a pool and a hot tub. We found out the pool was down for maintenance only when going to use the pool. I went and asked the front desk if it just needed cleaning or something and if they expected it open the next day maybe. The front desk said no it would be closee the whole time. I mentioned i specifically booked for this amentity and was pretty disappointed for my children and the desk clerk didnt care one bit. I usually have great stays with the Best western hotels but the lack of communication has really put me off this chain.
